Well basically every store has told me that it is indeed the 4th repair, so now the laptop needs to break in under 2 months. I've started using it regularly again with my fingers crossed, but who knows.
I just wish they counted the 4th time it was sent in, then this wouldn't be an issue.
Just called them back, I knew they were wrong. They did fix it 3 times, and they didn't count one because they said they didn't repair it. I sent it in a total of 4 times.
The guy claimed the 3rd time wasn't enough, that you need to bring it in broken again. I thought it was 3rd but he...
They DID repair it, when I sent it in the backlight was broken. When I got it back it was magically working? I hope I can find the paperwork.
Why would I send it in for a broken disc drive cover? Think about it.
Update:
I spoke with a manger, and he said that only 2 of the repairs counted. He said one of the repairs was just changing the faceplate on the disc drive, but that is untrue. They also fixed the backlight on it that time.
I am gonna go see if I still ahve all of the paperwork (I know I...
I use my laptop as primary as well. The portability is such a convenience.
I have an XPS m1210, and a cheap 19 inch LCD at home for when my eyes are bothering me, or to watch a movie in bed.
I don't think I will ever go back to a desktop, unless I became a PC gaming enthusiast, which I...
That is a point I forgot to mention. Especially if you don't have a car at school and need to carpool whenever you go home. I have an 8 hour drive to school, I couldn't imagine lugging my old desktop (and 19 inch CRT I used to have) home over holidays.
Plus there is nothing greater than...
Let me preface this by saying I probably use my laptop more than the average person...
I used to take my laptop everywhere on campus, especially to big classes (sharing music through mytunes is an addiction) and even in the dorms. Once someone setup a wireless router on my floor I used to...
I do have the paperwork, and BB admitted the error. But basically what they are telling me is that once again I have a working laptop, and they see no point in giving me a new laptop to replace a working one.
I am gonna go back in and try to talk to the manager again, but I like I said it...
Goran, I agree with a lot of what you said. I am also sure there are many good, kind and hardworking individuals working at Bestbuys across the US. It would be ignorant to assume everyone who worked there was incompitent.
With that being said My service order did say lemon policy, and 4th...
The last time it was sent in the LCD was replaced.
Before that hinges were just replaced, and they reattached the backlight.
Bestbuy seems to stand out more than any other retailer on dissatisfied customers and customer service, not to mention their second website that employees have used...
I agree Tman, and I did speak with a manager at the time.
He basically said it was fixed at that point, and that there was no need to replace anymore.
It's been 4 months since the last incident, I really thought the problem would fix itself by the laptop just breaking again, which it...
I love the XPS m1210
I bought one in June (Core Duo, not C2D)
I believe the specs are in my sig.
I get around 4 hours with the 9 cell and 2.8 hours with the 6 cell, with the upgraded graphics, and usually half brightness and wifi running.
The laptop is very sleak and the screen is...
I have had my emachines 6805 for 2.6 years (3 in August).
I have brought it in for repairs a total of 4 times. All of which involved the hinge defect, and 2 of the times it involved the LCD's backlight going out. One time the harddrive was replaced as well on one of the service orders...
