Yeah I noticed a lot of people were buying up the laptops even the discounts were negligible. Floor models of Macbooks and MBP were marked off $65 and $75 respectively, what a joke.

Hi guys! Just got back from the SF store and you wouldn't believe me if I told you...but here goes. The discount this week is LESS than what it was last week. I don't know when this happened as I have not been visiting them on a daily basis. Videocards for example were 20% off when I visited...

Negative. I did see a BFG 8800GTS 512MB (the new one) going for $399 retail minus the 20%. Plenty of 8600GT if you're into that.

Visited my local store in SF today, price reductions were minimal. I think they'll do well though, many customers buy on impulse.

Starting yesterday (Tuesday) they no longer accept returns or exchanges.

I hear what you're saying and an extra 30-day warranty is a plus for any purchase, but I have doubts as to whether the "good" coupons for 165's from Monarch are ever going to make a comeback. Current price for 165 from Monarch sits at 337.67-20.00=317.67 for you comparison shoppers out there.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, but many manufacturers lately have been decided against using ramsinks altogether in their 7900GT designs. This makes me wonder if they're necessary at all, or just a creation of aftermarket parts makers to reap additional profits from unsuspecting...
