I'd say it's a pretty solid bet that the earliest a gen 2 / version 2 VR product that comes out of either of the main camps (HTC or Oculus) is at a bare minimum of at least a solid year out, but more realistically closer to at least 2 years out....

Nobody will ever buy one of those fancy 3D cards being pushed by 3dfx. There are hardly any games that use 3D, and not everyone wants to mess around with Glide, or tying up the phone for hours downloading a whole new version of Quake. Maybe in...

  4. Supercharged_Z06 replied to the thread 90-degree rotary compression PETG fittings and general hard tube Q's.

Try and limit 90° bends as much as possible. They start adding up as to restricting your flow. While all the nice/tight PETG bends look nice, it's a huge trade-off, going for beauty at the expense of functionality. I tend more towards the...

  5. Supercharged_Z06 replied to the thread Best NAS for the monies these days?.

Love my QNAP NAS. (I have a QNAP TS-469-PRO that I splurged on about 4 years ago - still running strong and is rock solid.) I don't need/use Time Machine (as I own zero Macs), but it seems some of their models do have Time Machine support....

  6. Supercharged_Z06 replied to the thread First time watercooling - General advice so I don't Derp.

Fans that come with cases are typically not designed for rad duty. Most completely suck for such a purpose. It's like buying a high end sports car and running stock econobox tires on it. You really should consider investing in some quality rad...

Not arguing that shrouds add a lot to the cooling performance, but from my observation at least, they do tend to help reduce fan noise somewhat as air turbulence below the blades is reduced and airflow around the fan motor hubs is improved which...

  8. Supercharged_Z06 replied to the thread First time watercooling - General advice so I don't Derp.

Ya, going external with at least the top radiator would require you to hack the case a bit... But it would also give you more room for push/pull, be a bit easier to work with and give you room for shrouding... not to mention it opens up the...

  9. Supercharged_Z06 replied to the thread First time watercooling - General advice so I don't Derp.

For a first time build, especially if you are new to watercooling, I would really advise you to skip the PETG tubing and fancy fittings for a 1st build and just go with quality soft tubing (Primochill or Tygon) and use regular hose clamps over...

  10. Supercharged_Z06 replied to the thread Oculus DK1 help please.

A DK2 and you would be in much better shape... Getting the right combination of drivers/software to get a DK1 rig even functional is going to be tough... and the experience will be well below something like a Gear VR could provide. G'luck!
