Holy crap, it worked! Dead video card, resurrected!

I had a similar problem when I water cooled my 7800GT. The only pads were on the video card's memory. When I upgraded I couldn't find the pads, but I remembered what my pads looked like. They looked as if it was multiple layers of medical gauze with some thermal compound squished in it all...

Holy crap, it worked! Dead video card, resurrected!

Just fixed my dads Zotac 9800 GT 512 MB. :D Baked it at 385F for 10 min. I tried the card the next day and it was fine. I had some weird but continuous sequence of dots and blips across the screen. I thought the memory may have gone bad. Colours were low since the video card didn't have...

What is the best cpu for 939 socket?

AMD FX 60? http://www.anandtech.com/show/1920 But honestly, I upgraded my 939 when I couldn't play crysis. Newer cpu, chipsets, it all gets better. Could even go with a lower end upgrade, and it would still be faster. Compare it to your i5 system. ps my old system is in my sig still... its been...

I was using a DVI to HDMI cable. I havent tried it on a 1080i/p box yet as I don't have any. My brother used this cable for his hdtv at 1080p. He said it looked good on his. I will his cable again tonight on his setup. (46" Samsung 1080p) I borrowed the cable from him, and if his works...

52" Samsung not working right at 1920x1080??

Hi, I got a new 52" Samsung LCD 60Hz. Now when I try to set it up 1920x1080 it looks awful. It works at 60Hz, but the colours and quality is just bad, the colours are dull, flat. The quality looks very pixel-ated. Even with text I can see a few different shades of grey instead of white and...

    Is 12.32V too high?

Okay this is weird, it works with a 40pin IDE cable but not an 80 pin. This is an Nforce 2 Ultra *Asus A7N8X* motherboard. So before I went to test the same hard drive with the 80 pin cable into a much older system. Abit KT7A Raid, AMD 1400, and it detected fine. So...

Is 12.32v too high for a hard drive?

Oh yes +/- 5%. So that seems a bit better. On the other hand I tried the same IDE cable in another computer, and it detected the drives fine. Just got back from shopping, so I might try another cable. :) Edit: Yup I went from an 80 pin IDE to a 40 pin IDE and it detected... lol, the 80 pin...

    Is 12.32V too high?

Hi I've tried to connect a hard drive, and it is not detecting, I tried it in another comp and it does work. Could it be that the 12.32v 12v line too high? And may even damage the drive? The computers last hard drive died, and then I realized how high the 12v line was.

Is 12.32v too high for a hard drive?

Hi my I am trying to fix my uncles comp, and now the hard drive spins up, but doesn't detect. I was wondering since that the PSU (Enermax 465) is giving out 12.32v on the 12v line. My question is, is that enough to kill a hard drive? Or to make it work improperly? PS his last hard drive died so...
