Ultra X-connect 600W PSU good for new system

Yeah, as I said I've been out of the building game for a while. I did miss that detail. I noticed it pretty soon after this post, but since the question was answered I didn't feel the need to update it. I went with an i5 760 since it was $30 cheaper at microcenter and the i7 870 was $30 more...

Ultra X-connect 600W PSU good for new system

Thanks, looks like I need a new one anyway since the Ultra only has 1x 4pin 12V connector.

ASUS P5N-E SLI doesn't support SSDs?

Yeah, not a big deal I can easily reinstall and unplug the other drives. I hope that's all but I don't know why I found other people that said the mobo can't support SSDs. Specifically because it doesn't have AHCI support. Did older SSDs require that and newer ones don't?

ASUS P5N-E SLI doesn't support SSDs?

Well, maybe I'm crazy. I just set the old OS drive (XP) to boot and it booted into Win7. I think I verified that Win7 is installed on the SSD as it has a windows folder and SysWOW64. This was a brand new drive that I formatted before the install. I looked in Disk Management and the SSD is...

Ultra X-connect 600W PSU good for new system

I saw the previous thread asking about a Corsair 520W PSU and everyone seemed to think it was fine but also said it was a good PSU. I'm pretty sure this one will be fine, but I have been out of the building game for a couple years so I wanted to make sure this PSU would work for what I'm...

ASUS P5N-E SLI doesn't support SSDs?

So I did a bit of research and it seems like many other people have experienced the same thing. Does the ASUS P5N-E SLI really not support an SSD? Specifically an OCZ 120GB Vertex 2. I did a fresh install of Windows 7 on my Wife's PC and it seemed fine. Even after the install, with the DVD...

    Looking for some hardware advice

So, I've been wanting to build a HTPC for some time, but could never really justify the cost. But on Tuesday I'm starting a new job with a 50% raise, so I'm ready to do it. And with BF/CM around the corner, I think I can get some good deals. I've been reading a bit here and have a general...

What is my real problem - High Ram Usage

That is funny and I will do. It's not a big problem. Often I do jump on my computer for 10-15 mins. after I get home before I go out and getting the error then is quite annoying as taking the time to restart means even less time. I just don't feel that I should have to restart unless an...

What is my real problem - High Ram Usage

I have and to me things just don't add up. I can't see anything that's taking a really large chunk of memory through task manager. I'm not at home now to give a good estimate, but I might be able to count up about 4 GB of usage through task manager. Is there a better tool to use to check...

What is my real problem - High Ram Usage

So, here's my problem. I don't like restarting my computer every day. Usually I only restart when an update requires me, so once a week max. However, recently I have been getting errors saying I am running out of memory and need to close a program. I don't think my system is top of the line...

    What video card(s) to get?

But going for the cheaper option, to just last one year until a full system upgrade, does anyone think there's a better option than the 460 768MB? The most graphics intensive game I think she'll play is COD: Black Ops. But since I don't play much besides WoW myself, is there anything coming...

    What video card(s) to get?

OK, if SLI 470s arn't going to make much of a difference then I guess I should go with the 460. And if SLI isn't a good upgrade option then I guess I should go with a relatively cheap option to work for the next year. I'm not opposed to AMD, I guess I'm just remembering the days when...

    What video card(s) to get?

I do thank everyone for the response. The reason I am thinking about getting the 470 is that I'll probably be upgrading the pc in a year or so and I'd like to not upgrade the video card again at that time. Then maybe after another year add another cheap 470 in sli. Do you think that's a bad...

    What video card(s) to get?

What's wrong with the 470? That is a good card, but I'd have to buy today to get the $25 rebate. On BF/CM what price difference should I look at to make the less clock, mem, and bit worth it? Comparing to something like this.
