I'm pretty sure all these 22" monitors coming out are using the new CMO S-MVA panel, as they are the only ones making these size panels in any volume.
I'd be intrested to see what the lag is like on these monitors.
As was said in a post shortly after those screens that lag is not 5ms its 50ms, hes using a clock showing accuracy to 100ths of a second not miliseconds eg 0.05 seconds is 50 miliseconds.
$549 now, they dropped the price just before E3. However don't expect to "Be There" when you use these, i've heard its kinda like watching a floating big screen tv, that has depth to it. The field of vision isn't quite there yet for proper immersive 3D.
Still $549 is cheap for what is pretty...
+50ms monitor lag is worse than +50ms ping, as the game has no way of knowing that your monitor is lagging, and hence cannot compensate.
50ms can mean, even in a slow paced FPS that someone is really no longer under your crosshair, even when your lagged monitor indicates they are. Hence you...
The fastest dlp projector i've seen at a reasonable price is the infocus depthQ, its used for stereoscopic projection (page flipping) hence needs a fast refresh rate to avoid flicker. It goes at around 120hz compared to the normal 60hz for most conventional dlps (although you can get some that...
This is pure speculation but i bet this is due overdrive trying to reduce the video noise you normally get with using overdrive.
Think of the situation where pixels are changing over three frames
Situation 1
Grey 32 -> Grey 160 -> Grey 32
Situation 2
Grey 32 -> Grey 160 -> Grey...
I have the benq 23", which has the same SIPS panel as the apple and there is no lag on mine. I have seen a few posts on forums who have gone for apple after getting a lag on their existing 24" monitor and they have all said the apple had no lag.
The cheaper version of this (with just analog vga) also has the lag, as reported to me from a clan member.
I really find it odd that no big hardware review site has looked seriously into this, i've seen numerous posts over the past year regarding this issue... very odd...
I'm guessing because a lot of the panel manufacturers are geared to produce 1024x768 panels for pcs. Its probably easier for them to produce 1366x768 panels, and your right a native lcd resolution for content is always preferable imo. Scaling is never perfect.
