Well, without a budget, I'd reccomend the following.
3 Dell PowerConnect 2324 24 port 10/100 switches with dual Gigabit Uplinks $99 each after $50 MIR.
Then I'd hook those into a Dell PowerConnect 2608 8 port GigE switch $109 after $50 MIR.
Run 100BaseTX to all the clients, evenly...
I've used a good number of laptops in the past year (top of the line, brand new laptops from Dell, Gateway, IBM, and Toshiba) at work. I also own the eMachines m6805. Which do I like most? The eMachines. Its solid, well built, performs like a champ, had traveled around the world with me in the...
Hey, don't knock the DeathStar. I've got one in this rig that has been going strong since they came out. Its a 30Gig 75GXP, and has out lasted a WD 800JB and a Seagate 7200.7 that both died in this box.
The only difference between the 9500Pro and 9700 is memory bus BW (128bit vs 256 bit), but the share the same 8 pipeline core. The vanillia 9500 np has a 4 pipeline core with 128 bit memory bus. So through OCing the 9500Pro can just about reach the levels of a stock 9700, but the 9500np is cripled.
I can get pics up in the morning, just turned on my camera, got the little blinking battery warning, then it went dead, so they're on the charger now. Specs and a bad pic of the NIC can be found here , and the ram is a matched pair of Kingston with the blue heat spreaders. But like I said, pics...
Yup, I'm moving to Korea in a couple weeks and sadly, I won't be able to move my main rig with me. Since it would be a pitty to leave it sitting here un-used, my loss is your gain. All prices include shipping USPS Priority, and I prefer PayPal since I'm not going to be around my apartment to...
I have a 90W cyberpower and it does the job fine. Oh, and I noticed something funny at BestBuy when I bought it. On one end of the aisle with laptop accessories that had a 90W inverter from Targus for ~$65 i think. On the other end, the exact same (and I mean exactly the same) 90W inverter, but...
The standard (3M/192K) package is $55/mo ($40/mo if you subscribe to cable). The premium (4M/384K) package is $95/mo ($80/mo if you subscribe to cable). Basic cable is about $13/mo so you only really get a $2 discount if you subscribe to both, but I don't own a TV so I pay full price. Is it...
This is reason number 1 why my wife's cat (and my wife for that matter) aren't allowed in my office near my PCs. Of course I do leave my laptop in the bedroom, and the cat loves to sleep on it for warmth. Sucks that that little furball of doom killed your rig though.
