i have a G1 , the reception is not so great compared to my last phone (T-Mobile Wing) but the call quality is alot better ... i have to do the same thing as you , look for a window in my bud's house (with the g1) but the winmobile phone picks up signal

if your interested in keeping the sero plan just buy a phone off craigslist or something an esn swap ... sero plan still cant be beat thats for sure , an i previously owned the BB-Storm , honestly going from a PPC6800 to the storm i made a mistake , all touch vs touch + kb...

my q9400 did 4ghz easy ... on a gigabyte g31 board , so anywhere from 3.6/3.8 should be achievable:)

you can't upgrade to a core 2 duo processor for sure , only thing it will be able to take is a higher p4 as for the video card , you need to find out if its mxm or not - MAYBE able to up it to a ATI 9800 an thats it .... best best is buying a entire new lappy

i had a toshiba that did this ... i rebuilt it from the ground up an it worked it could be a short or something touching... , same problems as yours charging light came on etc... may wanna check the case an make sure everything is where it should be or just try a total rebuild of the lappy

i personally owned a dell mini 9 & Acer One - The Dell: VERY solid little machine - i just had one nag , an that was the SSD they used in them REALLY slow.... but if you can find one with a HDD , id go for it The Acer , was ok - cheap build quality , didnt honestly like the kb - crap...
