Very interesting thank you! Yeah I would also use a vertical mount gpu it's the only way. There could be a way to a use a heatpipe with various socket mounts which dumps heat into large diameter, flexible water pipes, leading to a thermal...

Actually 2 copper and aluminum or maybe plastic waterblcoks; 1 for CPU and 1 for GPU. CPU placement on mobo is not standardized and while PCie slot placement is which are x16, etc is not so lines from case to waterblocks would not be universal....

Great deal for that screen. Awesome work screens and fine for gaming if ya don't mind 60hz.

Is that the old dell u2711 from back in the day? Before the Korean cheap monitor craze, that was the monitor everyone wanted and they were over $700

Updated sold item. Hopefully, it has reached buyer by now. :D Bump. Editing in a reply to the below post, so I don't double-bump: Yes. 27", 1440p, and "100%" AdobeRGB coverage with ports for days (+ a SD card reader). I spent around $600 in...

I have to hand it to Intel, they are still looking strong with the refined 14nm. The 9900ks has some very promising power savings. Funny that law firms or media conglomerates are not held by the same standard. (((They))) seem to hire as they...

This is funny, thanks for the lol  I've always wondered if these stats are just the full time employee's, or the many contract workers. They are called "gender neutral restrooms" and yes, I've seen them.

Diversity initiatives themselves are sexist, xenophobic, and racist by default. Making sure certain people don’t get screwed because of their sex/race/nationality is good. This has been twisted into something illogical and detrimental somehow...

Too niche and expensive. My dream build is a custom CNC HEDT with 500w heatpipes for gpu and cpu. They're 30mm heat pipes lmao. I'd design a heat exchanger inside with a fan to keep mobo crap and pcbs cooled but zero dust to clean. Oh yeah it'll...

Nvidia won't have huge clocks on 7nm though keep that in mind. Now amd has better gaming efficiency with tweaked gcn aka rdna, things are getting closer..

Yeah, I think high Navi will compete well with Turing high end but ampere I just dont see it competing. Navi clocks fine. It's currently only 40cus. They have a fair bit of room tdp wise to add bandwidth and higher clocked gddr6.

People always go on about hbm being expensive (not really these days) and ignore the 800mm2 die elephant on the space invaders edition. Would love to know the BOM for that... I'd also wait it out. Great raster, shitty RT, overpriced... Wait till...

This time around it was definitely the right choice to not wait for prices to come down much since really, other than limited sales here or there, they haven't. It's still a rape this long after they released it.

?? It's within 5-10% of a 2070 super and consumes the same amount of power as the 2070 super depending on review. Sorry bud.

I think waiting for big Navi (for competition) or even 7nm are both valid reasons right now. It’s pretty late in the cycle for the 2080ti... I like buying high end early on personally.

I think we're close enough to a refresh to wait and see at this point. We're 14 months into the lifecycle. I doubt prices will go up for the holidays. I don't see them dropping much lower either though. Might get a sale price closer to black...

Yeup although I'm not putting much stock in that bench yet. AMD mtIPC is terrific and why they are shitting on intel in servers, even in intel extension optimised benchmarks lol. Latency is a large part of that. AMD has lower intraCCx Latency...

Which "Athlon" architecture are you talking about? The move from Socket A to Sockets 754 and 939/940 were massive, and AMD had the first true dual-core x86-64 CPU to market. If it weren't for AMD's 64-bit extensions, we might still be on x86-32...

Current Intel ring bus vs AMD mesh, Intel leads slightly in gaming. Intel mesh vs AMD mesh looks to be a very different story: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/68270/amds-ryzen-9-3950x-destroys-intels-i9-10980xe-3dmark-firestrike/index.html
