I'm interested in upgrading a Dell 400 XPS system, which is still running XP. I have the service tag for the Dell Website and the Bios number.
Service Tag: GFWWS91
Bios: Dell Dimension DXP051 A07 System BIOS (2007)
I'm not certain on what exactly I have to do to get WinXP to...
I believe it's the 256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON® X1400. I've tried forcing it using the standard feature "Force Fan" in I8K, but only the CPU will run. It says the first and second fan are running at high speed (Around 4,200 RPM) but of course the GPU fan isn't actually running.
The GPU isn't turning on at any point.
I purchased an Antec Fan Cooler just to be safe since I felt the machine was overheating. It wasn't pricey and is portable via the USB. It keeps the GPU temp around 55 C at idle. Without it the GPU goes to 65C idle. I haven't pushed it with games so...
Where can I get the screw drivers, electro-static discharge protective gloves, armbands, and the compressed air? Also, where can I get the secondary fan?
I found what I was looking for. For anyone who needs to replace the fans or to clean the fans of their Dell Inspiron E1705 or 9400, go to this link below:

This shows you how to also remove the video card if you wish to replace it.
I have this Dell laptop. I'm new to these, I've never worked on a laptop before. There are two fans in this system. If you're facing the monitor typing: A CPU fan far left upper corner, and what I think is the GPU fan far right upper corner. The fan in the far right isn't running...
My wireless worked yesterday and suddenly today it doesn't. I have a Dell Vista Home Premium OS and the Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card.
I'm not sure what to do. I've tried going to network sharing center and checking the Wireless Configuration Utility, but when I do I get the error...
I have an older system that I built, so I'm not up to date on speed transfer, and even the drives. What is firewire? Is it something a system or drive must come built in?
I am also looking at buying this drive. I'm going for the 250 Gig version. I'm curious what other members think about it.

Can anyone help me with this problem?
I did the above instructions in the quotes for one of my hard drives. It doesn't seem to be working correctly, and I think it's in PIO mode but can't be sure. I keep receiving what appear to be I/O errors, saying the drive can not be read. I ran Disk...
I'm having a similar problem. I went to the events viewers in Administrative tools and it says
DCOM -- Error
Service Control -- Error
Disk - Warning
What is the next step? The system recognizes the drive when I hook it up by itself and it does load windows, but very slowly. However...
This just happened to me. My secondary ATA Western Digital 80 Gig just failed. I have the main drive, but even that is starting to have issues. It won't do system restores, or load Safe Mode. Talk about a fix I'm in. I have to buy a secondary drive "NOW" -- so I'm going to the store today...
Ryan, the F drive is the one with the data still. The C drive was a back-up drive. So I can still get the data off the F drive. I'm on the F drive right now typing to you. So I'll do ok with the external Harddrive?
I could do that to back it up. Can you recommend the best back-up drive...
