    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

Im on Nvidia, and to get the games to work at 120hz, I must first set my desktop resolution to 1080p 120hz, then launch the game. If my desktop is set to 4k 30hz, and i launch the game, the game 'defaults' to 1080p60, very odd, but i get by. This monitor is a rose! its beautiful, but it has...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

I have PS3/PS4/2nd PC running via a 3 to 1 HDMI selector box, which then passes via a Live Gamer Portable capture card, then finally to my 39" Seiki HDMI port. So it would be really good if I could have just 1 HDMI input for this. If not, its not the end of the world as Im sure i can get...

Ahh Geoking, I hadnt thought of that. To use 2 seperate hdmi inputs so TV keeps each colour settings hehe. Although it would be annoying to reach for the remote control each time, it is still somewhat of a solution for now.

Yeah the 4k30 and 1080p120 modes uses a different foundation of colors or modes. So we got no choice but to calib for one or the other, trying to get the midway seems very difficult.

It looks like ur getting a scaled image at 1080p, hence the jaggy and aliased look. You need to make sure of the following 2 things: No over scan (both via TV or video drivers), and sharpness set to zero within TV settings. Not sure about the custom res part, i added a 1920x1080 120hz custom...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

I think a $300 kit for a 4k60hz desktop is an excellent idea. I would still be running my games at 120hz 1080p, but now the 4k just became alot more usable than just viewing still photos or browsing static websites. The installing maybe a fun factor for some people, trouble for others, so its a...

For games, i find that games happily run at 1080p120hz if your desktop is also set to 1080p120hz. Which is weird. Yeah so if your desktop is running 4k30, and your games' config ini is set to 1080p120hz, it can have issues. But switch your desktop to 1080p120, and all the problems suddenly...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

Hey Houko, yeah im also pretty sensitive with the input lag/response. I can clearly see a difference between this and my 120hz samsung S27A950 TN panel. But im happy to accept this over the TN due to size and colors/contrast advantage, its rly no contest hehe. So it will accept 240hz, and will...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

Yeah mine buzzes too, though not on 4k mode...weird (except if u turn backlight to less than 100). But on 1080p120, it buzzes as u said, when its black background etc. And i have a fanless PC so i can really hear it sometimes hehe, but i overlook this cos the monitor is awesome for what i use it...

Hey Houko, does the 39" handle 240hz at lower rest like 720p?

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

Hehe, u know spotting the dead pixels on a 4k is also much harder than spotting the dead pixels on a, say a 24" 1080p panel. They are so tiny (also i sit back a lil too) that they dont bother me as much, i have 2 on mine, in the corners. Anyways I88, u got a bargain for $270 mate ! :) You know...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

Hey houkouonchi, can our 39" seiki run 720p 240hz? Mine defaults to 60hz when i try. Not that id ever use that mode since 1080p120 is perfect for me, but hey. Btw, u can have the 'soap oprah effect' on the PC if u want, just google for SVP. Its basically a filter that is used for MPC to play...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

Yeah houkouonchi, I think this has been my best gaming and allrounder monitor so far. I have had monitors such as Dell 27", Samsung S27A950 (tn 120hz) and LG TV etc etc all in the past, and kept sort of switching between them, cos one was good at something but lacked in other department etc etc...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

SDDrew, unfortunately the 55" version is not very good for PC use. As far as i know, it does not support 120hz input like the 39/50" versions. Also, the motion enhancing feature (frame prediction / interpolation) is only good for videos, not for PC use, as u said, it has alot of input lag. It is...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

Geoking, 4k requirements are very low actually :) 60mpbs is nothing compared to today's flash drives that can do well over 500mpbs (thats roughly 50 megabytes per sec btw). So bitrate is not the issue. The main thing is hardware accelerated decoding, to offload the CPU work onto GPU, which is...
