I'm replacing a bad asus striker extreme... It has DDR2, and it looks like the striker extreme ii has DDR3
I was trying to build rebuild an old computer, but maybe it's a pipe dream :(
Update: I'm leaning towards a bad board.
I stuck a different c2d CPU in there, different ram, different GPU, etc....
I read a lot about the striker bios going bad too. It doesn't look like it has a removable chip though.
Hey guys! It's been an eternity since I've been able to delve into my enthusiasm for performance computers. The last one I built was a ridiculously overclocked AMD Athlon XP 2500+ mobile CPU in a desktop board.
Anyway... I was running around some yard sales last weekend and came across a deal...
The convergence board on my TV went out. It's easily accessible through a front panel, so I pulled it out to check it out.
There's a burnt resistor.
it's light blue, probably about the size of a tic-tac. no color code stripes.

I was actually going to go win7 ultimate/media center 7, and use a media center remote.
right now, i'm running a p4 .... 3.2Ghz HT if I remember correctly... with winxp w/ media center. it has some crappy onboard intel video. I haven't gotten into any flash movies, it's too much of a hassle...
