If you don't have high needs you should just fix your MacBook and keep it. It's still a very capable machine. Vintage it's a very subjective word in this case, if it works for you, then it's irrelevant.

Sounds like either a wiring problem or the motor itself is bad. The easiest is just to replace it.

Probably an open pole winding or a blown driver. Just have to toss it and put in a new one.

    Laptop dead fan

I recently got a Clevo P870TM1 with a dead cpu fan and been trying to fix it for a while. I already tried the port with another fan and it worked so the problem is the fan itself. The fan looks good, it's not stuck or anything, spins fast if I...

2500X sounds better and doesn't makes it confusing, or at least sell those only to OEMs that would be interesting.

The Raven Ridge line was great imo, specially in pricing, but this one looks amazing, seems they're moving slowly but safe to to high end performance ground.

    HP ZBook 15 G2 SSD M.2 question

I want to buy a m.2 ssd for this laptop but I've read that it has some sort of limitations in the bios when it comes to the m.2 slot, anyone has had any experience with this particular model? Thanks in advance.

The unit might have been used for testing and they just reflashed it to 0 miles when it was done. A few years ago I bought some Corsair Force ssd drives from ebay and after using them for a while they died and took my sata ports with them....

    SSD Clone

Is it recommended to clone an SSD?, I just got a new laptop and a bigger SSD with it and was wondering if it's safe to just clone my old SSD (240gb) into the new SSD (500gb)?

  18. luisxd replied to the thread Need a cheap very basic open bench to test motherboards.

You can found some chinnese made in aliexpress, they're made of transparent plastic and are cheap but they do the job, they usually come with basic buttons (power on/reboot) and usb ports.

You could try get normal metal mesh at hardware stores or workshops, they usually sell it by meters but it's cheap. There are different "styles" but the most common has a 1/8" holes pattern.
