This one seems like the most comparable:

And while it does have a superior video card, it lacks a lot of the creature comforts of the lenovo - 3 year warranty, fingerprint reader, LED backlight, TurboCache, etc.
That said, if those...
So I'm thinking of getting a new personal laptop. The only modern laptop I have right now is the SpeedCircuit laptop, which I really only use for tuning. I'd like to have one for personal use, and I'm partial to IBM/Lenovos.
There's a sale going on right now that I was thinking of taking...
I currently have a dual core AMD Opteron that I'm going to be upgrading to an Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor E8400.
Obviously I'll need new components to go along with this.
I'm going to need 2 gigs of RAM and a motherboard.

BTW, I can't exactly go buy a new one. This is for work and we're in between fiscal years. So unless I'm buying it out of my own pocket...
*sigh*
So i just tried booting off of ubuntu and a kubuntu 7.04 CDs (that I burned on that very machine yesterday) and get the following error:
-------------------
BusyBox v1.1.3 Built-in shell (ash)
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs) [ 97.054434] sdb...
Good thinking, but it's a data DVD (Aadobe Dreamweaver CS3 to be exact).
Nothing happens.
On the DVDRW, when I click on the drive to open it, I get a "please insert disc" error.
If I put it in the DVD reader and click on it, it will "open" it, but the disc will have no contents...
