On a Windows 2003 domain, what could possibly allow a normal domain user to view the AD structure? As a normal user i'm able to install the admin tools and view the layout of AD (users, groups, etc) which is a bit concerning.
Would I be better off just turning it back down to 3ghz? It's sitting at 60C steady on both cores according to Coretemp but it seems solid after an hour. I'm trying out the one that says "maximum heat, not much ram tested" setting and it seems stable after a run through. I mainly play games...
How hot is too hot? I have my E8400 with the stock HSF running at 3.6 ghz (9x400). Coretemp with Prime95 Blend test (1800 Ram specified) is hovering around 58-61C. It hasn't failed in an hour so far.
So the ringing was the PCIE power not being hooked up to the 8800GT. And the CPU fan doesn't spin until it needs to apparently, which I'm definitely not used to. Ugh, scared the crap out of me. I even took the processor out and put it back in, so the thermal paste was jacked up from the stock...
E8400 + Gigabyte mobo
I hooked everything up and just wanted to power it up for a quick test. When I turn on the power I hear a loud ringing noise, and the CPU fan won't power up. What have I done?
