I would if I were selling it or giving it to someone I knew. Myself if I bought it from some random person on craiglist I would end up reloading the OS when I got it home anyways.

Other than that grab the users specific folders in the Documents & Settings folders. (docs/vids/pics/music, desktop, favorites)
Going to assume hard drive failure.
I have a bunch of digital copies myself and I have like 22 movies in my iTunes library from digital copies off blurays and its about 65gbs. So I can just either back them up to a separate hard drive or I can burn them to a couple bluray discs.
Does your Brother have an onscreen menu on the printer so you can see the network settings to see if its getting an IP or to turn off/on or reset the network settings?
^^ I agree that seems extremely slow especially when connnected directly to the modem.
What modem model do you have? If you have a splitter before the coax going into the cable modem try connecting the cable modem directly to the outlet on the wall and try again.
