A screenshot would help. If you're talking about blocking then it's probably a scratched disk.
I've been getting a TON of damaged disks from NetFlix lately (7 out of the last 10 BR disks needed to be replaced because they had 5+ minute sections where they wouldn't play). The copy of Taken I...
If you have a SAS adapter with RAID functionality and hook up an expander then the drives on the expander can be used in a RAID array, just as with the directly-attached ones. Some controllers have limits as to the number of drives per array though, so, depending on the controller, you may need...
Cute... I've been wondering about that though. Why aren't there more SAS SSDs? I've not come across any that are available through retail channels. Only a few ridiculously-priced ones made for specific OEMs.
Where are you getting a $100 price difference? Most stores I've seen that carry both only have a $20 difference, which I'd say is just about right for an adapter that can support twice the number of drives.
There's some anecdotal info over on the OCZ forums about the ICH controllers, especially 9 & 10, getting REAL hot (95-100C and up) when you would stick >4 Vertex drives in RAID 0 running IOMeter. I don't recall anyone having them blow up though...
If memory serves, all were from users with no...
I don't even think about that because I don't use the Home versions of Windows. Good point though. Home Premium on Vista/7 is limited to 16GB, and the cheaper versions are limited lower than that. You need Business/Professional or above for > 16GB...
My last box had 8GB (4x 2GB, C2Q Q9550) in it and when I upgraded a month or so ago I tried to go it with 6GB (3x 2GB, Xeon W3680). That lasted all of 2 days before I ordered 3x 4GB to bring it up to 18GB.
18GB is the new 6GB. :)
Seriously though, if you're a heavy Photoshop user you should...
I don't want to get in an argument because at this point it doesn't matter, but as an FYI, you paid for delivery within 2 business days of the order being approved (which is typically instant unless you gave bad CC address info or wanted to bill/ship to different states), not UPS 2nd Day Air...
Sounds about right. I personally don't like it (and prefer Nerd, Rip It, and Bawls), but you'd be shocked at the amount the other employees go through...
EDIT: For those of you pointing out items where the prices have been inadvertently raised, whoops. I'll make sure someone fixes those on...
I'm not real familiar with that drive, but it looks like it mirrors to a CF card. What you're describing sounds like the freezing you get with a cheap MLC SSD drive. What kind of CF card are you using?
