This is part of my GF's masters thesis, a case study she is running based on communication and relationship building via the MMORPG medium. Its not exactly a statistical approach, as it just samples a very small set of people to find out if much of their communication is similar to offline...

Reading your post, I would just say updated that TV to a nice LCD :P Then some time down the road you can get a console you want. Get that TV upgraded ASAP! :D

I have an MSI Neo2 non Plat.. and I have the same crackling issue, with my front left speaker in my Logitech Z5300e 's I disconnect the front left speaker to test if its just that.. and it eliminates the crackling.. hmm I wonder its just interference on the cable cause its stretched tight...
