Interesting! Yeah, I did that on the original, though I also have BFG. I’ll see if I can figure it out.

I'm between 2 and 3. In most games I only use left and right click. Left of course attack, right being aim / zoom / similar function. In a few games where there is a weapon wheel I use the middle button for that. I don't like using it for...

Right Button. Left Button. Wheel Up. Wheel Down. That's it. Not even wheel button is used. I like my controls simple and transparent, an no chance of error. (wheel down can produce occasional errors for example...) My left hand on the keys...

Are you running it with RTX features? I wonder if there's more CPU overhead in this mode? RTX support isn't in Doom Eternal yet. That's one thing that springs to mind. Another is that id Software proper made Doom Eternal, and while their...

I think it's feasible given this: If they can get DLSS 2.0 support on the Switch, all they really need to render at is 1080p to get an upscaled 4K output when docked to your TV, which the current Swich already does in many cases. And honestly...

That's more or less how I feel. I actually like the game EXCEPT the weapon/ammo/saw mechanics. I don't mind the platforming bits really. I love the scale of it (like you mentioned), and all of id's usual visual touches. It's actually REALLY...

So I finally got Doom Eternal... I set my max i'd pay to $20 and isthereanydeal popped up with like $17 from Gamebillet so I jumped on it. I almost immediately regretted it because all the sale prices were for the Bethesda DRM so I had to install...

Not off the top of my head. I actually just went into the pak/pk files (they're just renamed ZIPs) looked for the weapon def files (named for each weapon type) and there are TONs of things you can change. Projectile velocities, mass, spread...
  • J
Make sure you enable all the weapon lighting effects in the .def files. Or just use a mod.

I barely played Doom 3 when it first came out. Just got a 3080, gonna give it a solid run through after sunset for the next few days.
  • J
Agree completely! I really do think the people that complain about darkness and monster closets must have only played the demo.

I played Doom 3 just a few years ago and was surprised how much fun it was. I didn't like the demo when it came out, it gave a false impression that there would be lots of dark shadows and flashlight use but that wasn't the case, they probably...

Nah, plausible. Used to grab stuff off of university FTPs all the time from links on IRC. (among other things) Then upload to local BBSes. :D Fun days.

I know this is going to sound insane, but I downloaded an alpha of Quake from a nasa.gov link posted in an obscure IRC chatroom a few months before quake came out. Sounds totally made up but I swear on my grandfather's grave it happened.

Yeah everything they showed at E3 you can play through. All this stuff you can play: I am sure you could probably still find it online. It's kind of interesting if you're a Half Life fan.
  • J
I was disappointed that they didn't have the same scene where the pinky pushes through the pipes in the wall. :D I didn't get or try the leaked HL2 stuff. I did like the tech demo they did for their shaders though.
  • J
I remember a friend of mine copied that for me... it was incredible. I also remember playing the leaked Half Life 2 stuff.
  • J
See one post above yours. :D I also had an alpha version of the original Doom game, where the map was blue, and you had a rifle with a bayonet of some type on it.
  • J
Nice! (while I had bought and upgraded video cards since the ISA bus days to play games, this was the first game I bought TWO cards for :D ) Got two 6800GTs for it. I had initially bought an X800 card for it because the Alpha leaked version...

Doom 3 is my favorite Doom game and one of my favorite games of all time. It was also the first game I bought a new videocard for.
