Well it's possible I suppose, but I would be squinting suspiciously at that mini dp to dp adapter. And I would ABSOLUTELY try a new one before calling Sapphire or the retailer. -HD

Also of note - if you end up with an adapter that does straight Displayport, you'll need an additional adapter to go Displayport to Mini Displayport. -HD

Don't discount the allure of Eyefinity, either. You never know... maybe that 25x16 is only temporary :P. In which case 4 gigs of memory might come in handy. -HD

It worked fine for me on a 4xxx generation card (pretty sure it was that long ago). The only thing is, if I wanted to pass audio through HDMI, I HAD to use the included ATI converter - NOT a DVI to HDMI cable. Don't know if this is still the case, but keep that in mind. -HD

I'm very happy with my F3s, very quick and no problems. RAID0 for four months or so, strictly for gaming. SATA 300 though. -HD

I agree with this sentiment - the 6950s offer by far the best return for your money. It's temping to wait around a while for the 6990 just to see how things shake out, however - 6950 prices won't be effected much, but by then you'll have a better set of Eyefinity benchmarks and aftermarket...

Well, I know that at least the 6850 has an integrated audio controller, which lets you pass video AND audio through HDMI. Is that one of the reasons it's on your short list? Because it's a damn good one if you want to hook your computer up to your television for movies...
