old thread, but i am bumping this because i have the same motherboard and would like more ram without having the ram frequency dropped.
i'm running a 2500+ at 3200+ and would love to keep the ram synchronous with the fsb.
does anyone know of a single sided 512mb stick of pc3200? the only...
I forget where I got that from, but it is so true in the case of that FBucks poo graph. I just hope nobody has made a purchase decision based on those graphs.
IMO, try the new card in your current mobo first. I would not advise spending money on a new mobo if you are waiting until next year to build a new computer. If the framerates are bad, turn down the resolution. If they still are bad, upgrade everything now or put up with the framerates. Again...
Another vote for waiting on the card. But, after all, you could have 2 9800Pros for the price of that one 5950U. Just flash the Pros together and you have a 9800squaredProsquared. JK. :p. Sorry, I just read the other where everyone crapped on you and I felt bad. You will be in a much better...
I'm running a 2600+ T-bred with the stock heatsink and 60mm fan. Would an 80mm Cooler Master Aero Series blower-type fan mounted on an 80-60mm fan adapter be enough to cool this thing? It's not overclocked, and I'm just looking to cut the noise down on a tight budget (I already have the blower).
I hope this pic works and I'm sorry if the quality sucks. The OC does nothing performance-wise, so I haven't really used it at that speed. But I had no problems with it while testing.
Somehow, on the stock passive heatsink, I managed to get a 100 MHz core overclock. Stock speed was 200 MHz. It's extremely stable, seeing as I haven't had any problems with it yet. Is the OC on this abnormal? BTW, it did very little performance-wise, thanks to the lovely 64-bit memory interface...
How about this:
Unique Samples: 499265
Other Settings
RDTSC 499,270 100.00 %
When I saw it before, it said something like 100.01%. Pretty cool. Maybe it has something to do with running multiple CPUs. I just don't know.
I think I win.
Radeon 7000 32 meg PCI
This is in my main rig too. Nothing beats FPS drops in Counter-Strike at 640x480. I think the onboard video would be better. That is seriously the only video card I have ever owned. Newbie cheese forever, if I am even up to that rank yet.
CompUSA has a VisionTek 9600 XT for $150 after rebates, and I think it does come with HL2. I think that would be much better than the other one IMHO. Good luck!
