Easy to understand why PC gamers feel the right to the cards. We've been buying cards for 25 years, the profits which are used to create new and better cards. Then all of a sudden, the dynamic changes and opportunists with no prior investment in the industry prevent us from buying the newest...
Thanks for advice. I went with the 2060. GPU and CPU utilization both range between 90-100% in my preliminary testing, so they seem pretty well balanced. I might try to get a bit more out of this CPU, 4.7 or 4.8 ghz doesn't seem impossible.
If I can ride out this system that I built in 2011...
My [email protected] is paired with a 1440p 60Hz display driven by a 970 GTX. Thinking about giving this system one last GPU upgrade. I'm drawn to the 1660 Ti or 2060 RTX. Cost really isn't an issue as long as there is a performance benefit, but I don't want to waste money on more GPU than this...

2500k overclocked to 4.4 since 2011. Works great with recent GPU upgrade to a 970. Added an SSD a few years ago, wworld of difference. Plays everything I want it to at 1440p with modest settings.
No urge to CPU upgrade. Used to upgrade all the time in the 90's/2000's, always thought I'd be...
Was an early adopter. Loved Virtua Fighter 2, panzer dragoon, nights, wipeout, sega rally, daytona USA. Was always waiting for a 3D sonic, but it never came
Also have had both since day 1. Agree that WiFi performance of the link is somewhat spotty to my living room tv, but works reasonably well. I use powerline ethernet with my desktop and it works wonderfully in certain situations.
