do you think the delid would be necessary if not overclocking? i have all my parts from the list I put earlier in the thread except the 8700k. I see they're in stock on new egg now so debating ordering that or buying one already delidded from silicon lottery. I don't plan on overclocking but...

Cool build. A little worried that it's so close to the one I'm working on except I was planning on waiting for the 8700k. If you're having temp troubles with the i3, then that thing is going to roast the small case.

all the parts on my list ordered now to be delivered later this week ... except the 8700k and the motherboard. ... going to be an annoyingly long wait for them to be back in stock. ... makes the ryzen 1800x look more and more attractive.

Thanks, I just ordered my M1 and am starting to plan out parts. From reading it seems like I should definitely find a good 240mm aio if I'm going to go with the 8700k, and I'd really like to since I want to try to run linux but pass the vid card through to a windows virtual machine. I think the...

Do you think the heat from an 8700k will be a problem in the m1? https://discourse-cdn-sjc1.com/business2/uploads/eve/optimized/2X/6/6b9477cbbf239aad4cbc68b65dd73fd66dbae5a1_1_689x459.jpg
