Interesting, the crackle only seems to happen when I'm doing cpu/gpu folding with everything loaded. The volume may be doing the same thing, but I haven't noticed it except in games (though I can imagine Arkham City loads both the cpu and gpu pretty well).

Yeah I redid all the connections thinking the same thing, because that is kind of how it sounds, but jiggly all the cables didn't fix or make worse the problem. There aren't any driver updates, but I'll try just reinstalling and seeing if that fixes it.

I've had this setup for a while now and only recently I've noticed odd problems with the sound output. What seems like randomly, the sound will fade, then get loud, then fade, maybe stabilize for a bit, then continue. Doesn't matter if I'm playing games or just looking at the Windows desktop...

I have my monitors hooked up to the DVI ports on my 560Ti and have noticed that sometimes when I turn the power back on to the monitors that the screen don't come back alive no matter how much mouse wiggling or keyboard punching I do. The only thing that seems to wake them back up is to unplug...

Oh I know. I've had at least dual at work (now triple) for a long time now and coming home always annoys me.

Crap. So I'd have to get a new PSU, another gfx card, and another monitor. Ah well.

I just got a 2nd display to hook up to my gtx560ti thinking I could game with both displays, but the highest resolution I can get in Arkham City is 1920x1080. Can you not do dual display gaming with a single GPU? If you can, what the heck am I doing wrong?
