Most comfortable mouse you ever had?

The Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical? I am still using one. Great mouse. Mine has seen better days though. Should last me at least another year though. :)

Looking for portable device to study

They are smaller and cheaper. Buy one with Linux on it, install nothing but the software you need and turn the wireless off so that you do not have the internet as a distraction. Use the netbook only for work/reading or whatever. It will help you focus if it is just used for a single task...

Buying a laptop - need advice

You will be very hard pressed to find any bank that will give you a personal loan for $2900 if you have no credit history. Personal loans are much more difficult to get than say a small car loan. If you stop paying on a car loan, they can track down and repossess the car. The car acts as...

Young music fans deaf to iPod’s limitations

The author of that article seems to be confusing two different kinds of compression. Digital compression can sound just fine when done properly. The other compression, the one that studios/producers/mixing engineers/whoever use to make music "louder" at the expense of dynamic range, sucks...

Most comfortable mouse you ever had?

Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical I bought it sometime in 2001 or 2002 I think. Still using it to this day. The mouse feet wore off, but a little teflon tape fixed that. Besides that the mouse looks pretty good for being about 7 years old, and functions perfectly.

Dell it is. I have already passed along the suggestions. Thanks everyone!

    Prebuilt computer recommendations

I actually did think about future proofing but as Kelv said, there is no reason to go with something high end. A Core 2 Duo will be plenty for the future imo. I think I have narrowed it down to either a nice low-mid range Vostro or Optiplex.

    Prebuilt computer recommendations

Those look like great computers and the components and warranties look top notch, but they are probably overkill for the basic tasks. I have looked a couple of Dell computers. Their small business line looks like it is pretty high quality, and is reasonably priced. I spec'ed out a nice...

    Prebuilt computer recommendations

A friend asked me for a recommendation on what sort of computer to buy to replace an old Windows 98 box (:p). They are not looking for anything fancy. The computer will just be used for the internet, email, documents, and other basic tasks. Spec wise, I know what I am going to recommend. My...

    Quick Vista question

64 bit it is then. I do not anticipate any application incompatibilities, I play some games and use some other common software. I might just go ahead and upgrade my memory as well. Thanks for the advice.

    Quick Vista question

I plan on installing Windows Vista today on my desktop. I have access to both Vista Business 32 bit and Vista Business 64 bit thanks to MSDN. My desktop is running a Core 2 Duo e6400 on a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 with 2gb of memory. My question is: Is there any reason to go with Vista 32 instead of...

    MGS4 Thread *including spoilers*

Just beat the game about ten minutes ago myself. I have some (slight, forgivable) disappointments but overall the game was bas ass, and well worth the price of admission (had to buy a PS3). It is bittersweet. I played MGS 1 on the PS1 and got hooked. I remember waiting for MGS 2, watching all...
