Is there anyone who can help solve my problems ? I am in windows now but the startup ( and the only one available ) is excruciating . Safe modes - not working . Situation has been reverted but not solved . I managed to revert the bios to default so now I am at the problematic computer ( and typing is like heaven compared to the antique iphone I was using ! ) and in windows again . Bios is back to F4 and showing less memory again .

    Gigabyte BIOS problems

I am still having problems with my computer , at the moment it is not usable . I am hoping someone can assist me in getting a solution to my problem . I am not sure where the problem lies - bios , motherboard or windows . The computer had a F4 bios which was upgraded to F5 then to F6 as the F6...

    Bios screen reboots

Windows installs just fine , except when trying to boot the F6 bios , then some drivers cause the loading of windows to hang , solution of course is to start in safe mode ,which has a limited set of drivers installed , which I cannot do and obviously no one else here can do either .

    Bios screen reboots

After 4 X58 motherboards I think I have some little experience in trouble shooting . The question still stands , unanswered , how to get the F6 bios to work . Then I can test your theory that Bios and post screen recognizing 8gb is not the same as it actually having and being able to use all 8gb...

Anyone have any ideas on how to get past "Starting Windows" screen ? I cannot use safe mode , it hangs - Is it important what file it hangs on ?

The Old X58 Motherboard "RAM Not Showing" Problem - Also on an older thread.

Here is a thought . I cannot get more than 4 GB working , changed the bios from F4 , to F5 , to F6 ( Gigabyte GaX58a ud3r ) and it registers all 4 modules and 8GB , BUT does not get past the starting windows screen . IF , as most think , it is a slot / socket problem then why should the bios...

memory slots failing - Is the memory controller on the motherboard or in the CPU (Intel 3930K CPU, X79 chipset)

    1. I have 3 CPUs - all working and many reseats have done nothing . 2. see above 3. not applicable 4. if this was the case then the missing memory would not show up with the new bios . 5. same as above I am on number 4 X58 board . First two were 09kpnv from the T3500 ( which went down - as far...

memory slots failing - Is the memory controller on the motherboard or in the CPU (Intel 3930K CPU, X79 chipset)

I have a little query . Now I have been trying to update the BIOS , ATM it is updated to F5 from F4 But memory is stuck on 4 gb for both F4 and F5 . Now everyone will say that is is the Dimm slots or the CPU socket , naturally . The thing is the F6 bios lets the BIOS see all installed memory -...

    Bios screen reboots

This is getting weirder , why is my life so complicated ? I am now sending this from the computer I was sure was bricked . Well I kept on button pushing (lots )and running around ( actually cycling ) , got a S/hand ps2 keyboard to make sure it was not a disabled usb setting in the bios . Had a...
