Easy simple question. I am heading home for christmas and want to take some files but don't want a lot of dvds to carry. Will a DL disk be able to be read from a single layer drive? I know the SL won't burn a dl disk, I am just wanting to transfer some files.

I am needing to back-up a large chunk of data. Easy 30+ DVDs. What would be a better choice for plain data back-up aside from DVD (which I already have, just want a redundant copy), external or network drive?
