Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

I'm sitting at the main menu still using 20-21 of both lol
It's probably just filling memory and not actually using it idk.

Just want to report. I was using over 22GB of video memory at 4k!

I was using 12, which I think all my 3080ti has. Can't remember.
I started rubber banding and having micro stutters, then it disconnected me to the main menu with an error 0003200 or something. Stupid me restarted to game and now have a 26 minute queue.
Performance is excellent though, running smooth as butter. Frenzy Barb already is fun.

Got in right away by doing "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo IV - Beta\Diablo IV.exe -launch" even when Play Game was greyed out in launcher. Created character and play for like 30 minutes then server lagged, booted me to menu, and kept erroring out when I'd try to rejoin game. Relaunched and now I'm in a 68 minute queue. Extra lame b/c game was fun and looked beautiful at max settings 1440p.

When the servers crashed your char stayed in game, so the people who restarted the game first got short queues. Everyone else who took time to figure out what happened (restarted their game late) is stuck a longer queue.
There are people still in-game running around in the crashed servers who will get hours+ long queues...

What am I looking at with a 3070 and 5800X3D on 1440@144? that really going to bog my system down? I never thought an ARPG would really demand that much resources.

I imagine it will utilize all the available RAM going by other posts. alxlwson just posted above about all 12GB of their 3080 Ti being used and performance was good.

Guess we'll see.

Release is June, right? I'll probably wait until then. I'm also getting the start of burnout, so who knows if I'll be taking a break by then anyways.

Well when you install this beta (Which is open next week) It lets you choose if you want to install the high resolution textures. So, if you are worried about system resources than just make sure not to install them.

Playing on the Series X, got in about 30 minutes before the servers went down. I love the look, the character models and light character customization is perfect for a game like this.

I really, really like the feel of this. Coming directly off both D2 Resurrected and D3 (both mostly on Series X) D4 feels exactly how I think it should.

My worries for the quality of this game are waining. If my interest holds through the open beta I'll be grabbing the PC version as well.

Just got back in so I'm going to go play some more.

Noted. I'll see what others are getting with similar setups. I mean, I'm sitting at 200+ fps on full settings in world of warcraft midraid. I mean, D4 can't be...that bad, can it? I know its apples to oranges, so who knows.

Two hour wait to log in, play for 30 minutes, disconnect, can't re enter. Queued for 40 minutes again. Classic blizzard launch... People buying the expensive versions for early access are going to be disappointed.

Have they ever extended a beta because of issues like this?

Hey! We get a skin or two as well...

I actually managed to play for about an hour, but just quit because I'm bored. I'll try to make it to 25 by the end of the beta, but I feel like I'm going to be pushing myself.

Played for about I don't know 2 hours or something. Hit lvl 11...fun game, looks good. Looking forward to release.

Please explain why it was boring. Very curious on what it was... Haven't played yet as I'm still at work.

World map, no markers obviously.

This is the game I've been waiting on for the past 5 years.
Unfortunately I tried to increase game resolution to 200% and it crashed lol, so now I'm back to 45min queue. At least I get to eat now.
It looks fantastic, on oced 7900 XTX it runs at above 120 fps (using almost 24gb vram), but the fps drops to massive stuttering when I teleport. Hopefully that gets fixed, although it's not game breaking.

Yeah this game is what I expected Diablo 3 to be.
So 10 years too late but we eventually got there.

I mean.....this is a closed beta. They are testing and we are supporting the testing.

This is going to happen quite a bit. No reason to complain about issues during a closed beta.

I understand a lot of people didn't like and got disappointed with cartoonish look of Diablo 3. I didn't mind, but I found character visuals became blocky and ugly quite fast. Never liked the smeared low resolution textures on Blizzard games that affect even WoW.
Diablo 4 however is a lot better and I believe will last pretty much forever visually. Especially if they continue adding graphical improvements like Ray Tracing, which is planned after the launch.

Yeah to me this is a merger of D2 and D3 style. I actually don't mind how dark and gritty it is. Thats what made Diablo 1 and 2 an instant classic for me.

Glad its not cartoony

I got booted once since it opened. It's been nearly flawless as far the network has gone otherwise.

It's not a launch.

I bought the expensive version. Still happy with my purchase.

You don't buy excess capacity for temporary surges.

I am in... It's diablo! So far liking this ... just getting my bearings.. have everything maxed at 4k and it's smooth as silk.

edit: incinerate is fun... like a garden hose!

Got my Sorc to 21 and started a new Rogue to play with a friend and it's pure trash. Don't play one.

dc, 2 hour queue. Think I'm done for tonight.

Finally got a chance to play. 60 min queue then got kicked. Another 45 min queue then finally got in. Hit lvl 10 with a Roque then got kicked and my character was missing so I just gave up for now.

I played for a few hours, game crashed again. The open world is absolutely massive, really enjoying the game so far. Not sold on the item system but I do like the skill system. I see why they added mounts, I'm already tired of running.
I have no faith in Blizzard to fix this by launch, there will be far more people, queue lasting two hours even during a beta is insane. At this point Last Epoch's beta has been handled better.

It's pretty cool so far.. got an error I think because the servers are melting..

Next weekend will also be a good test since it will be Open to everyone imo.
