I just put my zotac 4090 amp extreme under water and was measuring Temps. My Hotspot seems to be 15-16c higher than the core temp. I need to test it more to see if that's always the case but that was when running furmark or gpu mining using nice hash. The Hotspot temp differential makes me wonder if I applied the thermal paste poorly or have an air bubble. During application I tightened down the screws around the gpu core first, but then had to loosen them to get some peripheral screws to thread in and then retighten them. Reading on reddit, it seems to me most people have a hot spot to core temperature differential if 10c not 16c.

I'm using an ekwb waterblock for a zotac 4090 amp airo extreme. I have two 480x60mm radiators with noctua fans and an amd 7950x under water.

What hot spot to core temp differentials are you guys seeing?

I'm retesting now that I'm home and running furmark my Hotspot temp is only 10c past my gpu core temp.

depends on what its doing. at idle mine are the same, 33c. playing hogwarts its closer to 20c difference.

My Zotac 4090 with Bykski block running furmark. My GPU vs hotspot delta is 8c. I'm using one 420mm * 44mm EKWB radiator with fans / pump @ 40%. Coolant temp is ~11c above ambient. My clocks are just a tad higher but within margin of error.

fire up an actual game and let us know what it is.

I might have some time later.

F@H temps for reference.

If you maximize furmark with a higher resolution you can hit 100% gpu load. Also interestingly furmark underclocks the gpu. I've been running mine at +240. I've noticed that my hot spot to core temp differential is actually higher running nicehash mining, like 16c whereas running furmark at 4k 100% gpu load and +240 core the differential is 10c.

I saw 66.0C GPU, 78.2C Hotspot on my 4090Fe when it was pushing 520W. 12.2C
