We have Dish and have not noticed any outage *shrug*. I've been trying to cancel Dish for a while now but there are still a couple channels on Dish that we can't get on Hulu.

Back in the day

while I never had Dish, I did have DirecTV, and I miss those old days where you could just reprogram your card and get all the channels, ahh the memories... until that one fateful day where they said "You need to use our new cards or you won't get any signal" such a sad moment in a young adult's life...

That said, my dish I had bolted to the back of my house since the mid90s (that you actually had to pay money for) is still looking like the day it was bought, a while later upgrade to a receive "HD" signals (and free equipment) and within 5 years that one turned started to rust really bad and a couple more years later disintegrated completely, I've long since given up on DTV before that happened as the whole paying extra to receive HD was not my cup of tea.

Yeah I had a reprogrammed card for directTV back in the day too, was great for years until the new cards required killed it too. It was nice while it lasted though, had so much stuff to watch with all the channels, couldnt even keep up.

Ahh yes, free ppv, porn and all the premium channels. I miss those days, lol

Many moons ago,I worked for dish/echostar. It was a cluster and the worst working environment I have ever experienced. Charlie Ergen and friends can eat it. I hope they lose every subscriber they have.

I know it's hard to imagine but... there is sunshine and fresh air outside and birds and even deer. Unplug from TV. A few days with no TV actually is healthy.

Dish Network Hit With Multi-Day Outage, Suspected Ransomware Attack

"We experienced a systems issue with our corporate network on February 23 that is affecting our internal servers and telephone systems, and the issue is being investigated. Our DISH TV, Sling TV, Wireless services, and data networks continue to operate and are up and running. However, some of our corporate communications systems, customer care functions, and websites were affected. Our teams are working hard to restore affected systems as quickly as possible and are making steady progress."

I turn it on 2 to 3 times a week. You'll be surprised how much stuff I get done on the days that I don't turn it on.

Yeah I don't have any cable or sat. We don't even have a TV in our living room. Our family believes thar when friends and family come over we should socialize, not watch TV together, unless we all agree that a movie is the social activity. But don't get me wrong. I'm sheetrocking above my garage to make it a giant TV family media room eventually. But I will say that never watching CNN NBC Fox and all the lame stream fake news outlets is really peaceful and I find I actually know more truth about happenings in the world with out the propaganda factory running all the time.

I worked for DISH for like 9 months in like 2009. Man let me tell you about how irate people get about their TV going out or sports blackouts in their area. I frankly didn't even know these guys were still around. I haven't owned a TV (that is used like a TV) for probably 12 years now.

Oddly enough that was my second worse job. While many call DISH one of the worst employers, and I will agree, my worst job was for a healthcare company that does kidney dialysis. I'll let you figure that one out. Case of I saw too much of the inner workings and was disgusted. You never want to see how the sausage is made. Also, I wouldn't trust the code running their dialysis machines at all.

As for DISH, my undoing there was that they got pissed off I didn't lie to a customer who was owed a credit. I don't remember the details nowadays but it was basically fired for not lying to him.
