Atomic Heart

I know Denuvo is hated for legit reasons, but isn't it enough of a Swiss army knife that you need to actually test before assuming it will ruin everything? I feel there have been a few games recently that used it and I didn't notice at all...

Atomic Heart- Official Gameplay Overview Trailer

available February 21st...

Looks Fantastic. I will wait for opinions on this before purchasing.

I agree, it looks really impressive...only thing I'm worried about is potential performance issues as this looks like a graphics powerhouse with RT maxed out

Atomic Heart Bonus Q&A– Exclusive Full PC Specs Reveal & Shader Comp Info; Devs Talk Final Build Improvements

Does Atomic Heart support shader compilation before entering the game?

It starts before the game and you can see the progress, but it's up to you to skip this process and go straight to the game and finish the shader compilation later...as for memory, you can play with 8GB RAM if you disable the shaders optimization option in the settings...in that case, you might have stutters when entering a new location. But if you want to play without stutters, you need to have at least 12GB of memory to be able to precache PSO for faster runtime-shaders compilation

Are there Field of View (FoV) settings?

Atomic Heart already features a wide FoV, higher than many other games, so it was not included in the settings on consoles and PC

This game looks amazing but it has a identity problem kinda like Ghost Wire Tokyo. The AI you fight is just white placeholder android Ai but it looks innovative enough just not much finesse.

Based off that image, wonder if that means FPS is capped at 60. No FOV slider is usually a no go for me.

I like the visual style, I will probably get this pretty soon after launch if there are no glaring issues. When I saw the teaser trailer I wasn’t sure what to expect but the finished product looks pretty faithful to the teaser.

Doubt it is capped, most games just give a "recommended specs" for a rough frame rate level with the rough settings. Just use it for what it is, a rough approximation.

My prediction is that this game is going to be beautiful, but meh gameplay. All the videos look like a pretty generic shooter with bullet-sponge enemies, and a generically overly-self-talkative player character. Let's hope I'm wrong!

I hope you’re wrong but that prediction is damn plausible.

I think so too, but if the world is immersive enough I can probably excuse generic gameplay. I just hope there aren’t any huge red flags at release.

I'm also a bit worried about the story and I hate games where the main character is too chatty...Forspoken and Biomutant being 2 recent examples...that being said Atomic Heart looks impressive in terms of its unique Soviet I, Robot meets Bioshock Infinite setting and gameplay...plus the RT graphics have a chance of being one of best implementations of the technology...the trailers alone look gorgeous

The release of Atomic Heart, the hotly anticipated action-RPG set in the mad utopia of a fictional 1955 USSR, is finally within sight!...we would like to celebrate the final stage of the countdown with a new video starring The Boys and Supernatural star Jensen Ackles...

Wow! Seeing Dean without a double barrel shotty or a machete, not to mention a mouth full of pie is weird.

I'm super interested in this but it seems too good to be true. I'm guessing performance is going to be an issue, but we'll see.

Narrator: And he was right. The game was a stuttering mess and required 6 patches.

But I essentially expect a game to be bug ridden or at the minimum have performance issues. Performance issues is a given in modern games. Developers are just too lazy to put effort into making their games work.

Visually looks like a Bioshock successor or substitute looks like a graphically Net Gen game I think the live action video from above is taking a jab at Hogwart Legacy.

What people do they try to relate to the game or digest it to digest a game like this you might as well eat it a bowl of Captain crunch. I think the Steam crowd will accept this game with open arms unless performance is bad.

Some guy said the game had Development Issues so what you see is what you get worried the game might be too hard someone said it's Souls Hard not really my thing.

the preview build review sites played last month had PC performance issues which they hoped would be fixed by launch...I'm sure a game this graphically intense is going to have Day 1 issues...this really should have been a next-gen only title

Apparently a development build is leaked and is being passed around for download. Of course it is an old build from a few months ago and probably a mess. I would double check any "benchmarks" youtubers will be doing or any commentary about the gameplay because people are stupid enough to believe there is little difference between builds performance wise.

reviews are all over the place but mostly scores seem a bit lower than I was expecting...

I do not recommend: Atomic Heart (Review) [PC 4k]

Atomic Heart is ambitious but ultimately feels thrown together, poorly balanced and lacking a coherent, unifying vision. There are things to enjoy here, but the overall package is a mess and I can't recommend it...

I thought reviews for the game would be more positive and PC performance would be an issue...but it's the exact opposite...from the Wccftech review:

"The game does look very, very good when playing it on PC, but perhaps it is more due to the art department than the technical one. Ray-traced features like reflections, for instance, are barely noticeable most of the time. On the other hand, I'm positively glad to say that the performance is magnificent. In our last pre-release interview, game director Robert Bagratuni did brag about that, and it turns out he had every reason

With all of the graphics settings turned to the max as part of the Atomic graphics preset, at 4K resolution with DLSS Super Resolution set to Quality, on a PC powered by Intel i7 12700KF, RTX 4090 and 16GB DDR4, Atomic Heart runs comfortably at over 160 FPS on average. More importantly, the dreadful stuttering encountered in many recent Unreal Engine games is nearly non-existent. It's been a while since we've had a triple-A game running buttery smooth, and it feels really good"

even though reviews are all over the place I like what I'm hearing- the story, combat, skill trees, powers, graphics all sound pretty impressive...I'm definitely going to get this (not sure when though as I'm currently playing Dying Light 1 and want to play DL2 immediately afterwards)...I hear RT isn't available at launch on PC and will be added in a post launch patch (another reason to wait)

"If Atomic Heart has one glaring weakness though, it’s the localized English voice acting. It’s not that the performances themselves are toe-curling, or that the translation garbles traditional grammar. It just all sounds incredibly clumsy when it hits your ear...Mundfish recommends playing with Russian audio and localized subs"

What about the "forced on you" mouse acceleration? What were they thinking? In a FPS at that?

are the controls re-bindable to whatever you want? Like, can i use the numpad for stuff or is this like a bethesda game where you can't rebind jack ?

the gman review was fairly "OK", annoyances were the banter between player and his glove being constant, Far Cry 2 syndrome with nearly instantly respawning enemies, and other random bugs but nothing earth shattering. and the no FOV which everyone knows by now.

I've watched a couple video reviews this morning and I think it sounds pretty neat. Plus, it seems to run well. And well, Gamepass.
