Anybody plan on grabbing one of the new RX7xxx Navi cards on launch?

Has anybody been able to snag one of the $1000-$1050 ones from a Microcenter recently? Wonder how often they're restocking. Would like to stop by the local one around open but it's about a 40 minute drive one way.

Are you talking about reference?

Why don't you simply look up your store and they will tell you if there is stock. You can have them reserve one for you.

A XFX Merc 7900XTX coming my way, Jan 26 from BB. It was either that or the ASUS Tuf 4090, whichever was available first. AIBs need to pick up more on AMD GPUs, it has been bleak for the 7900XTX. Nvidia 4090 availability is also very weak, maybe more on the one I wanted that is.

Returning my MBA xtx and have a pulse and gigabyte gaming oc on the way. Will probably sell the pulse though.

I think you'll like it. Fun card to play with and cools pretty well. I am still sort of tempted to try a 4090 if I could get one for the $1599 MSRP just for the hell of it, but the XTX has been rock solid for me so far (unless I undervolt too far). This was from my last gaming session with mine. Just +5% PL and +5% Memory and max fan of 45% with undervolt to 1.09v.

Finally got a reference AMD 7900 XTX from AMD.com today - it has been a while so I hope these are fixed. Nice and full of coolant.

I’ve had a lot of fun with my Red Devil LE 7900 XTX so I was on the hunt for a replacement for my 4090 FE (buddy is buying it for his X3D prebuilt - which he’s waiting to order since it’s not available).

Picked one up today, too! They've been available since yesterday but appear sold out now.

That’s crazy! I thought it was just this morning. I’m psyched. Was gonna go RX 6800, RX 6800 XT (already had an RX 6900 XT) or maybe an RX 6950 XT but felt it worth the splurge to get the latest & greatest.

When do you get yours? I received a shipping notice today and mine will arrive Saturday. Can't wait!

Awesome man!

Today for me since the distribution center is in Lino Lakes, MN and I’m near Minneapolis. :)

Very cool! Please post about your temps! Just curious.

My card is going to be mounted vertically in a Hyte Revolt 2. I haven't seen any results for my orientation so I'll post back with those

Alright - had a nice little time installing and doing a long Fortnite run (2nd place...grrr) - numbers are suuuper awesome compared to my Red Devil LE 7900 XTX - same room, same temps. Needless to say - it's safe. Plenty of fluid in my AMD 7900 XTX MBA (made by AMD) reference vapor chamber. ;) Biggest difference is the case. It's an NZXT H510 from a former pre-built (snagged during crypto era) that I Frankenstein'd into a "Millenium Falcon"-type build (may not look like much but has it where it counts) - so not typically an airflow heavy case but with loud fans courtesy of Noctua it is a whole different ball game. :)

Pulled an RTX 4090 FE from this rig (selling to my buddy - he is waiting to build a pre-built on 7xxxX3D) - the size comparison is bonkers.

Rig looks mighty nice...although I miss the clean 12VHPWR cable. ;)

Very nice! I'll be playing on a similarly spec'd machine. Mainly the 5800x3d. Sounds very promising! I, too, have a 4090 in my main rig :p Very excited now!

I was not so lucky. My hotspot hits 112C. Pretty darn high. I'm going to hang onto the card to see what AMD's solution is for this. Hopefully they send out new coolers. I'm still playing games just fine though.

Dang, sorry dude. Is that even with a custom fan curve?
I haven't played with fan curves at all. It gets pretty loud while gaming though so I assume the fan is running full speed. 22750 3DMark Timespy. What's your score?

you cut off your pic just above the fan speeds, but i wouldnt assume. id set a custom curve and see if it helps at all but id also reach out about a rma.

I stuffed a sapphire pulse xtx in my case. Temps are great. But I'm still looking for a gigabyte gaming oc.

Isn’t Sapphire supposed to be one of the best AIB models? Is there something about the Gigabyte OC that is special?

23,672 - but I’ve got somewhat exotic RAM (3800 MHz, CL14 B-Die).

I guess we will see, if I can ever find one. My main reason for the GB card is 2x8 pin, and thinner than the pulse and the MBA. I returned my MBA, got the pulse and want to try the GB for giggles. I guess the pulse will suffice at the undervolt I run if the GB turns out to be worse cooling wise.

That’s the graphics score or the overall score? Overclocked 6900XT’s break 23000 in graphics regularly, your score definitely seems low.

Hardware ,I use one to virginize and reprogram vehicle control module eeproms when they're VIN locked to other vehicles so used control modules can be repurposed rather than become e-waste.

Thinking about picking up a xfx merc 310 7900xtx. Will my Corsair HX750i platinum be sufficient?

I max out at around 600W with a 7900 XTX AMD Reference (EDIT: thought it was my 7900 XTX Red Devil LE, rig...no. :)) and a 7900X CPU - this is a digital reading from my PSU (AX1600i) - so very accurate:

power_7900x_7900xtx.jpg

You've got a high quality 750W PSU there - I'd say you're fine.

Yeah as others have said, you should be good with a quality 750W. I was running my Merc with a HX850i and even with messing with an overclock I think it barely got much over 600W for my whole system at peak gaming with my 7700X

Example playing.

RMA finally came in. Haven't had a chance to really stress test it but at a quick glance it appears to be much better temp wise.

EDIT: This is after 2 passes of timespy and about 10 minutes of God Of War. Leaving town right now for the weekend and will test further when I get back.

nice. that looks so wierd though, all those MCDs and a fan intake temp..

¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I dunno. As long as it works :) Btw, Hogwarts Legacy runs better on the 7900XTX than on my 4090 despite the 4090 getting higher FPS. Strange.

I dunno if it supports it, but if your using dlss 3.0 you might try turning it off and see if it feels better.

DLSS 3 made it better. I'm not sure why it works better on the 7900XTX but I'll take it. This is on 4k vs 1440P UW where I'm running the 4090.

I don't think my question is interesting enough to justify a separate thread post so it's going here. :)
What do you guys think of the Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 XT and MSI Gaming Trio Classic 7900 XT? I am just asking out of curiosity - those two cards are the cheapest 7900 XT cards in my locale. The Sapphire I like since it's AMD-centric AIB (whatever, you call that) and the MSI - I read that it's a pretty quiet 7900 XT - actually, both are.
I'm just paying attention/watching the 7900 series - since, I'm curious/interested and a Linux user. However, they're probably not too good for my usual use case - which is unfortunate. Still, those two look like decent cards.
The 7900 XTX is about $200 more in my area.

Of those two brands I would lean heavily towards Saphire however those lower end cards don't always get the attention they deserve so reviews would be a bigger factor for me.

The Pulse line can range from really good no frills cards to loud, hot, and not that great. On some mid-range GPUs they'll even have two pulse models with one good and one not good. I doubt they'd do that on the 7900xt though since it's a higher end card and they have a nitro version.

If reviews are good on both I'd go with the Saphire.

The 7900xt didn't make much sense at $900 even in the current overpriced market but at $800 they're actually a slightly better value than the xtx version.

The Gigabyte 7900 XT OC and XFX Speedster Merc310 Ultra/Black 7900 XT are in the same price range, too - so there's a few more choices. However, they're all in the $900 USD price (equivalent). I have only read personal reviews (customers who bought them and posted online - although, I asked a couple of them about their cards). So far, they are happy with them.
I want a quiet card, though - so, whatever is most quiet out of these although I understand the AMD-based/centric cards are usually preferred (i.e. XFX, Sapphire - out of these).
I doubt they'd get in the $800 USD/equivalent in my country, any time soon. 'Would be good, though.
