It's nice to see 12th and 13th gen support. I wonder if Shuttle is addressing the anti-bending bracket issue with LGA 1700 or if you will need to buy something separate.

It is disappointing to see that they are still going with a 300W supply, though. It makes it hard to use this barebones for even an entry-level gaming machine in 2023 since the best GPU you can use with a 6-pin connector is basically still the GTX 1650 Super. It would have been nice to see the PSU size go to 500W with an 8-pin connector, especially since the new "mid-level" GPU's now seem to start with the RTX 3050 which definitely will not work on a 300W PSU. I expect that Shuttle will release a higher end model that has a 500W PSU, but it would still have been nice to have been able to do a bit more with this entry level cube.

I have had great experiences with Shuttle, I have two of their cubes and really like them. The space saving is just so nice and the fact that you can still use normal PC parts that allows for upgradeability (as opposed to laptops that don't even want you opening the chassis nowadays) is a big plus to me.

Yeah that 300w psu is a bit disappointing. They have a 500w they can put in there. Shouldn't be that much more expensive although size could be a factor and maybe that's one of the reasons they chose not to.

Yeah, for some strange reason the PC63J (500W Shuttle PSU) is not listed as compatible with the SH510R4 (basically the same as the SH610R4). That said, the PC850 (850W PSU) is listed as compatible but it is not cheap:

I suspect that Shuttle will (very soon) also announce an SH680R8 that should ship with a 500W PSU. The problem is that these days even a 500W PSU doesn't really get you all that much headroom as far a decent GPU goes. I am not sure that 500W is even enough for an RTX 3050.

Looks like you'll definitely have to buy something separate for bending issues since the picture in the press release shows the stock bracket.

The 500w psu should be good enough for up to a 3080 or anything less performance. Maybe some of the low end 4xxx series but for a 3090 and 4080 on up your def going to need that 800w psu.

I don't know if 3090/4080 class cards would physically fit in the box anyway.

Those won't. Not even close. They are comical in size compared to this thing. Look at the rear I/O. Even a 3070 or 4070 Ti is questionable. There's only two slots allocated for a GPU with no room to spare. I could barely get a two-slot GTX 670 to fit in my SP35P2 Pro and this thing is smaller by height.

My Galaxy GTX 670 4GB has the dimensions 10" x 4.37" x 1.51".

However, it looks like Shuttle placed the GPU on the left side (right side when viewing the rear) which means the gpu cooler is facing outward, so in theory you could install a gpu with a tall cooler and let it hang outside the case (maybe an excuse for a mod?). That's assuming the gpu in question can clear the height and length of the case.

Another option is water cooling. But that might not be practical given real estate is at a premium. You could external water cool, but at this point you might as well invest in one of those external GPU enclosures. You'd want to buy a thunderbolt add-on card though.

I had a shuttle system back in the Q6600 days... Solid rig. Really wish they would make something with AMD support.

blah blah, who cares about the graphic cards and different core CPU...

who else is all about the Customizeable front panel!!! Who else wants laser etched graphics! and u can add an LED strip to change colors!
This would be good for home labs and putting the Proxmox logo or the ESXI logo!
