The Mandalorian- new Disney+ Star Wars series

I know it's just a teaser for the season but season 1 ends with everyone's favorite bad guy whipping out the darksaber and they're not even going to acknowledge that in the trailer?

Might be that the scenes with Moff Gideon are too revelatory, or just that focusing on the main story didn't leave much room for him.

They might breadcrumb that for 2-3 season leading up to a final showdown arc. Gus is doing other things, overall involvement is going to be pretty low, I'm guessing.

The funny thing about it is that she didn't actually make any jokes. She refused to post a particular pronoun on her social media and people started going after her trying to force it upon her. She declined and posted "boop/bob/beep" instead because she was getting threats.
I'm a liberal and open minded as the next guy, but that's some bullshit.

I guess there are a bunch of folks wanting Sebastian Stan to suit up as Luke for S3... which is due out sometime this year. Filming started in Oct 2021.

He's a pretty good ringer for Luke.. He's not listed as a cast member that I can see though.

Anyways.. just thought this was kind of cool but feels like it's not happening.

I'm all for getting rid of the fake Mandalorians and replacing them with Jedi school buildup (and de-cannonizing the latest movies). Have a side series with a sith school buildup! yeah I'm dreaming.

Looks dope.

My only serious grip with this show is Bill fucking Burr.

I can't take any of it seriously whenever he's on screen. Hope he doesn't come back lol.

SUPER hyped for this. My wife and I recently watch this and she isn't even big on Star Wars and loved it. Honestly to me The Mandalorian is better than all the prequel and sequel trilogies combined.
If you can handle the pacing and get through the first 2 episodes, Andor is Star Wars for Adults. Well written, fully developed characters and plots. Great world building and it doesn't have it's actors telling you everything. You get a good portion of the tension and direction from subtle queues and actor body language.

It's the best Star Wars in years. Makes the Mandalorian look like child's play.

But, I am looking forward to Mando S3 as well. Just wish that Grogu wasn't a thing. He's plot device, a 50 year old retarded Yoda race creature that can't talk and is meant to coo and sell toys. It destroys the spaghetti western feel of the Mandalorian.

I really hope they decide to bring back Gina Carano at some point in the new season. She was great in S2 and she's probably my favorite new character in The Manalorian. It would feel really weird to have her suddenly vanish from the storyline.

lol I enjoyed him in the show.

The only thing that sucks is his entire part and arc is what Finn should have been but who ever wrote those movies is stupid.

EDIT: Finn deserved to have this scene. I thought Bill did a pretty fine job acting here though. Unexpected. (the acting chops I mean)

I think Disney has too much Kathleen Kennedy in it at the moment and way too many activists to bring Gina Carano back. She's a strong woman, just with the wrong politics for Disney.

We got Katee so we would overlook that DIsney likes their strong women strong... but not that strong. (act strong only when the camera is rolling pls) lol

I really liked her character but she was "cancel cultured." She will never work for Disney again unless our world changes drastically.

We do live in an insane world. 20 years ago the people that "cancelled" her would have got destroyed for suggesting a female MMA fighter isn't clearly still a woman >.< Her only mistake was not pointing that out and choosing to be nice instead. After having to deal with people accusing her of taking male hormones and being too manly for years clowns on the internet made a big deal that she wasn't writing WOMAN on her forehead.

Pretty sure nobody was ever saying Gina was too manly or taking hormones during her MMA career. I think you're thinking of Cris Cyborg. In Gina's case, they mainly said she was a "can killer" and was protected because she was good looking. She was known for putting on lots of weight between fights and rather than keeping a fighters diet, she'd dehydrate and starve herself late in the game.

That is fair... and as I am not a big MMA fan I believe you. :)
Of course the people accusing her of being a bigot for not putting a She/Her in her bio knew probably even less then I do. My only point is it used to be highly offensive to suggest female athletes may not be actual women.

Before Carano was let go by Lucasfilm, trending hashtags like #WeLoveCaraDune, #FireGinaCarano, and #IStandWithGinaCarano erupted on Instagram and Twitter...though Cara Dune’s presence would no longer be felt in the Skywalker saga, her co-stars and reportedly Jon Favreau himself fought for her Hollywood safety...now, over a year of being fired by The Walt Disney Company, Gina Carano is starring in and producing her feature film...

Yeah, she landed on her feet. She would be doing better if they hadn't canned her. But more than the fact that they canned her, the Star Wars brand is just a dumpster fire of cancelled projects and fired directors all in the name of one person's personal agenda. KK, or Kathleen Kennedy, is where all roads lead to. She has cocked up damn near everything she has touched. Thank god there are a couple people left at Lucas Arts that are capable of producing good content. Unfortunately, Indy 5 and some of the other shite at Lucasarts (like Willow) will be sacrificed on the alter of virtue signaling, injected activist agendas and trash writing.

Firing Gina was the biggest mistake they have made since hiring JJ reboot. She was set to head her own show... and it would have got eye balls and probably been a hit if it was at least decent. Instead they released Andor, which I hear is a pretty good show. After the very crap Fett show, and the Gina mess. Really I just don't care enough to find out.

I think she ended up fighting catch weight more often than not.

She was "cancel cultured" in the same way "Karen" gets fired from her place of employment by yelling at the kid selling lemonade without having a permit to do so and having it video taped for all to see, and then in true Karen fashion leaning into the pitch and starts screaming at wasting money on busing handicapped kids to public school because there's only 1 or 2 kids on a bus (FYI, not saying Gina said this). Agree or disagree with the statements whatever, her employer on the other hand did disagree with her statements quite a bit and fired her.

But regardless what you or I think, I feel her character was just standard "muscle bound meathead with a gun" type of character and could easily be replaced by anything else, Fennec hey there's a chick who knows how to use a gun really well, Bo-Katan yeah there's a chick flying around and kicking ass, Ahsoka OH SHIT CHICKS WITH LIGHT SABERS!!!!!. Now that doesn't discredit that you liked her as a character though, just for me I didn't feel like the character was really integral to the overall story arc.

Or her show could very well been shit like the Boba Fett show too, seems Disney is just throwing crap at the wall seeing if anything sticks with every IP that they own (which is a lot).

Book of Bobba Fett wasn't that bad.

I am an enormous fan of the original Trilogy (A New Hope is my fav movie of all time and Empire is easily in my top 5). I thought that the prequels were flawed but I still enjoyed the heck out of watching them: there was so much potential that was held back by the stoic writing and acting.

That said, when Disney bought Star Wars it became unwatchable for me with the exception of the last part of Rogue One. Episode 7 was beyond awful in my view: force-fed radical feminist propaganda does not translate into good story-telling, frankly it made me appreciate the prequels and originals so much more. Padme and Leia were both strong female characters but they had flaws and vulnerabilities that made them human and justified a need for the support of the other protagonists and it made the story interesting. I heard that episode 8 was even worse than 7 with the leftist poliitcal propaganda and so I refused to watch it and spare myself the self-induced nausea. Any new Star Wars from Disney after that point basically became toxic for me. It's too bad because I am sure that there is some good stuff in shows like Mandalorian, I just know that there will also be a ton of poison pills in it pushing agendas that I don't agree with and so I would rather just not watch it at all. I wish Mandalorian had been made 20 years earlier back when entertainment and politics could exist in separate worlds and writers could just focus on making good stories.
