What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Going to try and knock out some time in Greedfall this weekend.
I bought it months ago and never really played it. Fortunately, I'm utterly bored this week with wanting to play the usual - shooters. Witcher 3 update came out, I just don't think I want to sink time into a story that I already know.

Greedfall seems promising, has decent graphics and it's a different style RPG than I'm used to.

Tower! Simulator 3

Is this like old Sim Tower? I remember playing that back in the day on my Mac Centris before I picked up a PC.

Anyways, I am going try to get some more Ghost Recon:Wildlands Tier 1 levels. I'm just taking my sweet ol time with this.

Edit: Maybe some The Witcher 3

Air Traffic Control for tower (arrivals) and ground movements. Got some issues but it is a new iteration from their prior Tower!3D Pro but some improvements and potential.

GR Wildlans was fun.

So Mini Healer is/was great. Sort of hit the end though. it ramps up into impossible. Sort of maxed out there.

Been flipping through MMOs. Warcraft is dead to me. Path of Exile made a few changes that kind of killed it for me; its a bit of chore too get to a build down. There's really nothing else out there huh? New World has that reputation behind it. Genre looks pretty dead.

There's First Person Shooters, but sometimes kiddo comes into the game room and I can't have him watching stuff like Doom on the screen.

hrm

TES:O?

Grimrock?
meh.

I think I'm back to where I was a few months ago. I stopped gaming altogether. I came back a couple weeks ago, messed around a bit here and there, but back to where I was. nothing really tickles my noodle.

Just bought We Who Are About To Die - what a fun game.
For those who don't know - you're a gladiator trying to win your freedom. Once you die, you start all over as another random gladiator at the bottom and try to work your way up. Pretty neat. Anyone beat this yet? Shit gets hard af.

What kind of gameplay are you looking for? RPGs are my jam.

Replaying Homefront since I got Homefront: The Revolution last year and never played it. Should'nt take long to get through both. The best part will be playing TimeSplitters 2 from within The Revolution.

I'm bouncing back and forth between NFS: Unbound and High on Life. I'm enjoying both and I'm kinda surprised at how challenging Unbound is so far.

Is Elden Ring worth the price of admission? I used to just play DOTA 2 exclusively but now that I have an infant I need a game I can pause on demand

Should clarify that you can quit out of the game, and when you continue you'll start from the exact position you quit at unless it was in a boss arena. It's almost as good as pausing, so that is always an option.
Yeah, just don't fight any bosses. ;)

...and yeah, you can actually beat the game without fighting any bosses (well, maybe one or two). It's just extremely difficult if you aren't good at souls-like games.

Ouch ..wouldn't wanna be Chloe in UC rt now, hilarious graphics fail.

just started thea 2 the shattering ... wow... tough game,
glad I found a good walk through on bing...

Finished Black Mesa the other night. Fired up Half Life 2 and got all the addon stuff with the recent Steam sale. Twiddling my thumbs again for something. Got an itch for World of Warcraft again, but I'm holding steady. I know where that is going to lead. Keep poking around for something. The shooting games I'm trying to avoid for now only because kiddo comes in and I don't want him watching Doom and stuff.

I'm not knocking your parenting skills, but my kids use to beg me to play Doom 3, Quake 4 etc. when they were young, and their now 21 and 25 and neither are serial killers, and have an extreme love of horror and violent games and movies.

What's the difference in killing human like "people" in Black Mesa-HL2 vs Orcs and stuff in Wow, compared to the make believe "demons" in Doom Eternal that would traumatize your kid? Serious question.

I mean you could lock the door when your playing games like that, same thing if you were watching Pr0n or a snuff film with your little one lurking around.

Just food for thought from one parent to another.

I simply feel some scene are ok for a five year old while others are not.

Its not often I'm gaming when he's not busy, but on occasion he'll take a seat next to me and watch for a bit. Firearms are a part of our lives, he's familiar with them, and even help me process a deer. Just some things he's not ready for yet.

Well if you think field dressing a deer isn't as bad as your son watching Doom Eternal, then I have nothing else to say.
Thanks for your honesty.

Attempted to finally play RDR2 after much reading of hype and so on. After 10 hours of trying I can't take it any longer. Such a slow burdensome fetch quest game. Wish you could gift games purchased to someone else.

I am in the same boat. I couldn't even finish GoWR. I just picked up Chained echos last week and got about 40 hours in. Will this be one of the few games I will finish this year? Have to wait and see.

Back to Fallout 4 for a bit to test out a few new to me mods. Downloaded a couple of mods which turn Acadia interior and exterior into settlements. Both work perfectly and now I can turn the place into a proper settlement. Still in the pre-planning stage but with what I've got in mind I believe it'll turn out great without breaking lore.

After this past weekend I think I'm up around 5,400 hours invested. 😳
