[H]OT !!!! 5800X3D $279.65 Shipped , Newegg

Maybe not the most appropriate thread for this, but has anyone tried the Ryzen 3000 OC bracket from der8auer on a 5800X3D?

Temps aren't great. I'm used to my massive open loop on my regular PC lol. I think I need to repaste and reseat the cooler. May just be a toasty boi.

Using a CM 240mm aio it's bumps right against the 90c limit then just barely throttles and maintains right there at about 4.35ghz all core.

Bios is all stock, xmp, above 4g and resizeable bar enabled.
Temps can't be any hotter than my 5900x, can they? Definitely could be needing a repaste.

I know with PBO on, my 5900x can reach 80 to 82c no problem in c23 and gaming.

I bumped the voltage down a tad, and have all cores at 4.6 ghz with PBO disabled and it's sitting around 80 Max on C23, and 70 - 72c on intense games. This is with the air cooler in my sig.

Interested to see how my 5800x3d temps are once I get my replacement mobo in this Friday... I have a 240mm aio to use for it as well.

I did do a run in c23, while bumping the 90c thermal limit it did 14,300

I used one with a 3950x. Obviously different architecture. I have it just sitting in my closet now. I don't think I saw a lot of difference.

Dunno if it's worth making another thread, Antonline on eBay has the 5800X3D and with the coupon JOLLY15, it knocks it down to $309.99 with no tax and free shipping. Not sure if anyone gets the code or how long it lasts for, but it's not a bad deal at all!

I got one at 329.99 from Newegg, but missed the Affirm deal, so I'm grabbing this one for my other Ryzen box.

I have one on my 3800X. After several attempts at positioning I did see 2-3C difference.

How do I view temps? Anything built in windows?

I’m using a graphite thermal pad instead of paste.

My experience with graphite pads wasn't good. For temp monitoring, I recommend HWInfo64.

I was getting similar results with my custom loop (360 rad), the only way I could get the temps under control was with undervolting, but usually hitting 5ghz. I followed this guide

Got my 5800x3d going benchmark against my OC'd 5900x, then lap both cpu and blocks to see if it helps with boost clocks/temps. Will keep you guys posted.

downloaded hwinfo. so ty. which do you usually look at? I see:
CPU
CPU die
CPU CCD1-Core Temp, L3 Temp

Edit: I guess CPU die would be best since its the average. Averaging around 50C idle. That ok?

Edit2: when I game its around 72C. Curious about others now.

Are you using the rig in your signature or do you have a 5800x3D? I ask because this thread is about the 5800x3D and I thought that maybe you didn't update your signature. Then again, if you were stressing a 5800x3D, you would be way higher than 72 while gaming. 50 idle on a Core i7 930 at stock seems a bit high to me, but not a real problem since it's idle. Personally, I would want it lower. 72 is also a bit high just for gaming and not running a CPU stressing app like Intel Burn Test, Prime 95, or Cinebench in a loop. Gaming should be in the 60s I believe. However, 72 isn't going to kill it. If you are overclocked, then everything is different. 4GHz was the standard OC target on that chip, but I haven't had one of those in a long time.
