Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

My guy from Romania said the game is average I still might pick it up going to see how much CD Keys charges.

The missing stuff was the same with Vanguard at launch. With Vanguard all that stuff was put in basically once the first season comes out in mid November.

Damn I was hoping MP would get better reviews. I have little interest in the campaign and don’t really wanna drop $70 on a mediocre MP experience. Maybe I’ll give it a shot for a couple hours.

I never played mw2019 mp. Only cod I played in the last 7-8 years was cold War and that feels so different from this game. I also played mostly hard core and mw2 2022 feels like bullet sponge to me now and ttk feels so inconsistent. Movement feels so weird and slow and the slide is bad. I'm going to wait for hard core to make a final judgment but mp gets a 6/10 from me so far.

Does it not have hard core yet? If so zero interest from me.

Edit: Called Tier 1 mode. Not out yet.

Precise aiming is more important. Some people call it "pixel sniping", I never had a problem with it. Aim better I guess? I hate bullet sponge games which is what regular CoD is.
Normal core mode is terrible feeling for me right now. I've had 3 crashes so far. I am going to shelve this until hard core comes out and give it another try.

Played MP for about 3 hours today. It's alright, nothing really new at all though. Had one crash to desktop. One thing I wish was that they stuck with is scorestreaks instead of killstreaks, that's a good way to provide incentive to always go for objectives.

Score streak change was not needed as well imo. They just changed things to change things.

So BF 2042 MP not good compared to previous (by a long way), MW 2 MP not good compared to previous. We are paying for what, exactly? Everything Apex? Not cool...

Yea, they got me this time. I got cold war for free during rtx 3000 launch and that was my first cod game in almost a decade. Bought MW2019 when it was $20 recently to play campaign and since I got the 4090 I thought I would get MW2 to have something new to play and I already regret it.

I feel the same way about Bf2042......this is why I didnt pre-order MW2022.....Because I didnt want to get fucked over again. Looks like I saved myself $70 this time around :)

I got BF2042 free too when I bought my nephew a new laptop. That game was a mess. Honestly wish I could get a refund because the MP is a waste of time and money as it stands right now.

Half the weapons kill in 3 shots to the chest and have a time to kill of under 200 milliseconds

This is why aim assist for controllers is broken. For gamepad users, it's 90% the game doing the work, and 10% skill.

Anyway, the first major game breaking bug has been found:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ModernWarf...e_bug_you_can_ping_an_enemy_during_the_death/

They corrected it by disabling ping, but yeah, people were getting free wallhacks for awhile.
I've seen a few clips and the aim assist is beyond assist. It's bonkers in this game, it even tracks through stuns and shit where you can hardly move with a mouse.

Reminds me of the first time I played Destiny on PS4. Couldn't hit fucking shit, never played console shooters.

Realized the reason my aim was shit was because I was actually trying to track. Literally your goal was to get your crosshairs vaguely on something and the game will do 95% from there. It was basically laser locked on that person unless they literally teleported.

Big reason I have not bought MW2 yet. Seeing that it has no hardcore/Tier 1 mode yet, I suppose that was a good decision. Doubt there will be a price drop soon but I will probably wait a bit.

I had to try it out since you mentioned it. Controller aim assist is basically aim bot. I just tried it out, I have been struggling getting shots to land or even get decent kill streaks. Swapped to my xbox controller and holy shit it feels like theres no recoil, I am getting headshots all the time and my shots are registering. The tracking is bat shit, now I know why I am getting killed in kill cams by console players. This game is broken, just absolutely broken. KB&M is actually at a disadvantage vs controller. This game makes me feel so dirty for actually using the controller on my PC for MP. WTF is infinity ward doing, I remember them being the better COD studio but this game is an absolute mess.

You can somewhat alleviate this by turning off cross-play. It won't 100% get rid of the gamepad aimbotting, but at least the majority you'll be playing against will be PC mouse+keyboard.

And yes, for quite a few COD's now, to include Warzone, the gamepad aiming assist is a joke. In every scenario they will have a complete advantage over you unless you're 100% on your game as a mouse user.

I know this to be true, because i'm awful using a gamepad for FPS's, but the fact that I can plug a gamepad in and barely have to focus/concentrate to get the same K:D ratio as someone who is at best maybe average with a gamepad is very telling. Meanwhile, I have to play at like 100% of my capabilities to barely scrape by with mouse+keyboard, and I would consider myself above-average when it comes to game engines that have the idTech/Quake engine style 'feel'.

They dont have an option for that right now correct me if I am wrong. I was looking it up. I have no problems with Cold War. MW2 is totally different.

EDIT: nvm you are right they have it now.

You might be right. I know i'm generally a better player with Vanguard, and it could be because they cranked up the assist in this one. As for the option, I thought for sure it was in the account settings area, but maybe they haven't put it in yet...

I will say mouse+keyboard still has an advantage, but your twitch/aiming has to be in very high-tiers for that to hold true. There is basically no way I can hit those levels again like I could in my teens/20's back in the UT/HLDM days.

No you are right they did just add it in. Generally I am a 2.5-3 KDA in Cold war, in MW2 on KB&M I am a .75-1.0. The aim I have been having the most problems with outside of hit registration. Kill cams clearly show I hit him first and I can count 3-4 hit marks before they even fire back and I die first.

I haven't done testing, but I do know that from the one match I did with gamepad in this game, it was pretty stupid. I could literally just hold the fire button down and not even manually move my aim, and the gun would just hop between new targets in my FOV. Which, BTW, means that flashbang is basically worthless if you're playing against a gamepad user. Their aim assist will still draw their crosshairs on you instantly.

Yup. For automatic weapons the aim assist will literally negate recoil and snap to the target. Literally just need to move your crosshair in the general vicinity of a target and spray. Playing KB&M the recoil and spread is crazy and I can be near point blank and miss half my shots. Even on single fire mode I am missing shots. 2 games into controller and I am getting 2-3 KDA ratio easy. Its disgusting.

MW was fine for the most part. So I am not sure why aim assist is a problem in this game.

They cranked it way up, and now even at long distances even non-ranged weapons auto-track. Average controller players will dominate even decent mouse users.

I think it's a solid game, and will be fine mid-NOV once it gets the normal features added in just like with Vanguard.

However, I seriously wish I could get a refund based off what i'm seeing with the aim-assist. If they don't patch this, this will be the last COD I purchase, as I don't enjoy playing FPS's with a gamepad regardless.

I’m doing just fine with mouse and keyboard and I’m an average player at best. Maybe SBMM is working as intended and actually a benefit, in this regard?

I think the game is great. Mouse and keyboard here playing MP for two days and consistently in the top 3 in cross play.

Not average, but semi above average I'd say. I went ahead and tested a Xim Apex on the Xbox, and my kdr is about 4 with that vs barely 1 on the PC with a mkb, though I only ran a few games. It doesn't have the flick that the mouse allows, but I can hold down the shoot button, whereas on the PC, I have to tap to adjust for recoil. Long range I do decent, but short range I'll get owned. And you have things like Cronos Zen, which even allow for the game to adjust and give you zero recoil on the console. (It's like a Xim on steroids).

Wow I am so out of the loop on stuff like this. Never knew about the zen thing. Watched some videos on it.

I dont know if you figured it out yet, but you can change killstreaks to score streaks. its under the killstreak build option.
