[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears for Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX

Probably all wondering when 3070s are gonna drop. They seem to have plateaued despite lots of stock.
That or a mixture of either those who have held out for non-inflated prices (me), and those who realize the 40 series is "just around the corner' so why should they pay 20% over MSRP on a 1.5 year old card that's about to be "obsolete"

One last hurrah, rebought that 60 ti fe for 360 plus tax.

Never heard of Sonnet before but they keep popping up. 6800 XT $700

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...html/SID/76540034dac911eca38a6a27e9b9ae100INT

They have been a long time provider of hardware support for Macs. They do some crazy enclosures not just eGPU but also rackmount stuff for Minis and Trash Cans, used to do CPU upgrade boards back in the PPC and prior days, etc.

These were originally meant to be OEM cards. Its AMD reference board design, with an semi custom cooler. I think they are available now at retail, due to attempts to capitalize on the GPU market.

They seem like good cards. But, only 2 year warranty.

3 year warranty on AMD cards is now the exception unfortunately. Off top of my head pretty sure all the AMD-only AIBs switched to a 2 year warranty a while back.

Where is that info coming from? I just randomnly checked 6800 XT on best buy. Gigabyte, XFX, MSI ---- all three have 3 year warranty.

FE cards are only available from Nvidia, correct? Does anyone else make short PCB cards like the FE's?

They are only available through best buy, though I think a few have randomly shown up at micro center a few times. Nvidia stopped selling them on their site quite a while ago.

Nothing OEM made is close to the FE board in size and shape. The FE is short due to the inverted fan hanging off the end. Some OEMs have made standard length boards with holes to mimic what the FE is doing. As it stands, the FE is a custom job and is not a reference design.

I'd said I was out on getting a card from this generation now that we're so far into the product cycle.

Buuuuttt... $899, a 10% Rewards coupon for my BB credit card, and the fact that the 6950's pricing tells me that the eventual 7900 will not be $999...

I'm in.

You can under volt and boost the power limit 15% to achieve the same clocks or very near the same clocks as a 6950XT at lower power if your chip is a good one.

I actually used to run my 5700 XT at -35% and was amazed at how little performance it cost.

Temps also never spiked past 5x degrees.

I had that in my cart, but was unable to complete the transaction before it said it was gone. It was you! ;)

I then tried to add a 1070 Ti - same issue.

Did manage to snag a 1070 for $159. Definitely an upgrade over the RX 480 I have one in one of my secondary systems. Now I figure I can sell the 480 and get an upgrade for a net zero cost.

The midnight start to the B-stock sales is 2AM my time. I set an alarm to wake me up at 1:50AM, giving me just enough time to wake up, log in, and start clicking refresh to see what appeared.

What time is it? 12AM PST? I always forget about it, fall asleep, you name it.

Why are you/anyone still card hunting at this stage?
Given the choice between the upcoming (but not yet available) RTX 4080 for $800+ or a 1080 Ti for less than $200, what's the better "value" choice for an upgrade at the moment?

I would certainly look at the 1070/1070 Ti/1080 for under $200 if I wanted/needed an upgrade from a less powerful card.

The price of an RTX 3070 should be looked at closer, factory boost 1785mhz /240 watt vs 1725 / 220watt , should tell so much more about a video card and what your really buying at that price and which would have better power / cooling to offer. so please don't think all RTX 3070's are built the same and it's very important to know which model your dealing with when showing test reviews.

It's Thursday but EVGA's midweek sales (Wednesday) are still active. The invoice for my card indicates the 29th as the end date:
5/25/2022 - 5/29/2022 11:59:00 PM

The invoices for my previous midweek sale purchases showed a coupon time of 24 hours, meaning just Wednesday.
So it appears EVGA has extended their sales. They do restock cards periodically, with the sale prices still active, it's a good idea to keep an eye on the store. My alerts have been going off today but I don't see anything worthwhile.

Not sure what you mean exactly but I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on the Asus KO 3070 V2 (dual fan one) which is $629. 3070/3070 Ti prices have flatlined, no longer moving down.

Over $600 for a 3070 is just embarrassing. I'm glad I don't need Nvidia for specific features or I would have missed out on the 6800xt I got for less.

EVGA just cancelled my kingpin. gg

edit: Others say they also got cancelled. Must have been a pricing/stock error.

Sorry to hear that.

Now I feel better about my $159 1070 order - as I received a shipping notification from EVGA.
