[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears for Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX

I bought the Tuf 3070ti at 649 ( Newegg had that promo code for $50 off a while back) and the card is terrific. It performs as expected and stays cool. I would like the 3070s to be under 600 by now but at some point the extra 20-70 bucks is just putting in an hour or two of overtime at work vs waiting weeks or months for a possible further price drop.

I will always believe buying a midrange 8gb card for $700 is dumb. But whatever. Just my opinion.
Kinda hard to call it mid-range when it outperforms the previous gen's flagship GPU for almost half the price that card sold for at MSRP, 8GB notwithstanding. I still don't think 8GB of VRAM is an issue for anyone gaming below 4K either. I would call it a high-end card and try to consider other perspectives outside of the current gen card's performance and pricing before you even need to factor in the past 18 months of crazy supply and pricing issues.

I would call it a high-end card
You can if you want. I consider high end cards geared towards 4k. The 3070ti is not.

*Edit* Comparing prices to what Turing gpus went for is a trap. The 2080ti was a massive outlier.

I'm just not sure why VRAM size would be the only criteria to determine what class a card belongs to when we have 240+ Hz 1440p and 1080p monitors that even a 3090 would struggle to keep up with at those resolutions with the right IQ settings. Or why you would weigh how much texture data a card can support at 4K more than actual rasterization and RT performance at the same or any other resolution.

The former because 240hz is much more niche than pushing higher resolutions and the latter because the 3070ti will drop off much faster than actual high end cards. Going more into it would probably risk both of us getting flagged for off topic lol. Can continue in PMs if you want.

This late in the product lifecycle I can't imagine paying over original MSRP. $600 for a 3070 is original price of a 3070 ti, which is already a bad value.

Just hold off until something pops up.

NewEgg Shuffle today. Been a while since I have seen that email pop up.

It's not being cheap, it's good marketing, luring you to the higher trim level. and your falling for it.
It makes me just go to other companies that have backplates on their lowest models or direct from Nvidia/AMD that also have backplates standard at the lowest price tiers.

its usually not in stock that is the thing. does the back plate really matter all that much?

It was in stock for like 2 days straight last week, we discussed it in here. I was wondering why, it’s cause miners in particular and many gamers want a backplate.
