Looking for a S370 waterblock. I told myself I would leave my new win98 rig stock... I just cant.. I have a long history of going way too far. So why quit now.

How can I deny this nifty piece of kit, water cooling? Its the industrial shuttle XPC!

What kinda weird cool setup is that? That isn't a stock ATX MB is it? BTW what s370 CPU are you trying to bring to the brink? 333a?

Getting a good air cooler from that era today is hard. Water coolers back then were generally made out of cheap crappy plastic and most certainly haven't withstood the test of time.

I'd say look for something from the Socket 423 or 462 era, like the Swiftech MCW5000. It's a milled aluminum block, the only thing you'll have to worry about is the seal between the base and the lid. Both of those sockets used the same latch mechanism as 370 and should be compatible. I've used 423 and 462 coolers on 370 sockets.

Though with it being a SBC, you may have to figure out a way to provide additional support. The socket and certainly the back of the SBC weren't designed to have several pounds hanging off the back of it at a weird angle. I'd certainly install a copper shim on the CPU if you're not using a Tualatin or Coppermine-T with an IHS. There's a real possibility that the die can crack on the older Coppermine chips that have the bare die exposed.

The koolance cpu-300 series of blocks (exos-2, etc) blocks are still holding water, just hard to find.

I  might have some old water cooling gear around like s472 blocks. Unfortunately I'm out of town for the next week, but I can look when I get back.
