ARM China back in line?

ARM proper seems to have finally jumped through the last of the legal hoops to bring their Chinese division back under their control.

That’s a big win for SoftBank because it was seriously hindering their IPO process.

But it still looks like they are going to have a big fight there. Should be an interesting one.

I mean, can they ever really be trusted again? They'll just pretend to comply until they've gathered enough resources/info to go rogue again, on command from China. I wouldn't even trust the janitors at Arm China.

Any and all chip production in China is compromised. Move it somewhere else. Yeah, it's hard on the pockets, but it is also still an easy choice.
Too late. China knows how to build them now.

Oh, that's OK, trade embargos for suspect chips should be the norm. It could be the norm if the rest of the world had adequate production. Chinese production only matters if they can bring those chips to market. Since the only way they ever seem able to advance tech, is by stealing it from others, they would quickly be years behind the curve again if first world companies stopped building chip factories there.
