6800/6900 Overclock Results

What do you do with your PC? Game? Anything else especially having 64gb of ram? CL16 is fine. Here is my 3900X. This is with Bdie CL14 3733. If you do a 5900X will be great but even a 5800X is also a great option. View attachment 443730

Yeah I just play games on it, and mostly got the 64 Gb because I always try to put more memory in each of my new systems than the previous one had. Plus I like looking forward to upgrades again after the decade of intel malaise, where not much changed and I kept my 3770K for 7 years before I upgraded to my current rig. Back in the old days I used to change my processor all the time, I bought multiple P3's and Athlons to upgrade my systems. Now its good to have that to look forward to again.

9. 21364 The cold is deffinitely air cooled, lol.
Well done!!! That is impressive. I'll be sure to switch you to air section. Do you have a link to your run? Thanks
Catsonar here's my validated score: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/72045575?
Cracked off a 22.7k upping the clocks and power somewhat. This is at 360w with MPT.

I'm on air btw.
Legit!!! I'll switch you as well over.

My post has now been moved to the first post but I will update mine since OP stated he would mirror mine.

Nice ! Tried upping my score, but not quite there yet :)
22550: 1138mv and 356W (MPT 310 +15% PL), with reference air-cooler
https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/72071593?

I noticed that the Radeon drivers tuning page has a simple stress test, and that shows some useful metrics (instantly visible if MPT has effect) ...
Wondering at what point 'power limited' would shift to 'temperature limited', I played a little with this stress test: put the fan at a fixed 30% with PL +15% and the rest on default settings (no MPT).
Seems that at 110°C, the power usage is decreasing and throttling is starting ... so, like all of you said already :D, under normal conditions you will reach the power limited before the temperature limit.
But also shows that with air-cooling, there is some additional headroom with MPT.

Are quotes static or dynamic ... would a quote/reply to your post #373 in the OP be updated when you change yours ? ... we can check if you edit the post in the quote above, to see if it updates here :D

Hopefully not a redundant thread but I wanted to compare OC results and tips for the big Navi cards. Overall, these are just as much fun to overclock as Vega was and take much the same approach. Until we get some soft ppt tables, the 6800XT won't go over 293W (+15% power limit) so you're trying to balance getting the voltage as low as possible to increase headroom while matching a top boost clock that it won't crash at with the low voltage.

For my 6800XT on air this seemed to be about 1025mV@2550mhz and 2130 ram (fast timings), this would reliably boost into the low 2500mhz range. With the waterblock on now and load temps in the mid 40's, this moved to 1035mV and 2650mhz (2550-2580 actual boost) with 2150 ram. This let me just squeak by 19,000 in Timespy.

What have you guys found?

What are you cooling your CPU with? Also aircooled? Well done! You've taken the lead for air.
Thx. No, CPU is cooled with EK classic S360 kit.
The original plan was to add the 6900XT to that loop, but didn't get to it yet ... for now, I still like the looks of the reference card too much and it is really quiet.

How did you get a 1.3 voltage?
Just with mpt newest version ✌. Upped it from 1.2 to 1.250. Noticed not much temp difference. So i thought why not. Upped for 1.3v. And shit how that card flew 😂👌. Playing cod mw maxed 1440p ultra pressets with 300+ fps is pretty cool. Avg game clocks at bf5 and cod mw where aprox 2912mhz.
Temps where when gaming 59c junction 70. Timespy its more like 64 and junction 79c

Repasted the Stock aio with thermal grizzly condonaut

475watts, thats great!
475 limit with 15% more where like 562 peak 😂👌 hell of a card as it Can draw some seriously watt usage lol. Noticed the complete pc with screen took 900w during timespy. So i tryed to create a profile with less watt usage. Now the gpu tales like 240w and i get 22500graphic score with complete pc only takling 420w timespy total

Hot damn!!! That's a great GPU score!!! Extreme Edition? Which model/ manufacturer? Can you post a link to your score. Thanks

And yea, for those asking, 1.3v is doable. Your results will vary depending on whether you have an XT or XTU chip. You could technically try 1.3v on an XT as well but whether or not it works or can handle...... depends. I know personally XT chips will do 1.250v, and you can do 1.200v daily. Haven't tested beyond that. Please note, cooling is paramount when injecting that voltage.

I'll update scores!!! Great score!!!

Lol, just responded to you on your FB post in the AMD 6000 series page. I knew it was you. Had seen your post there earlier in the day.

got a link here? dunno if its work but hope so.

its a sapphire toxic extreme xtxh repasted with thermal grizzly condonaut, and upped to 1.3 core voltage slider at 2770/2872 memory fasttiming 1 2140mhz 475w powerlimit +15% pl wattman and fan profil lowest 25% (using silent bios for that low fan speed) (hate noise lol)
gives me max junction temp around 79 with these settings and max peak is around 562w during ts graphic test 2, but most time its avg around 500-530

and here for firestrik ( only difference here is i was able to set max mhz from 2872 to 2937mhz) http://www.3dmark.com/fs/27269202

hmm just tryed some other tweaks with mpt and ended up with this

http://www.3dmark.com/spy/26591545 25799 or something graphic score..

but now it says graphic driver not approved like wtf???

update... reinstalled to latest driver (even though last 1 was the driver before this..)

ended up with 25 627 graphic score VALIDATED now lol.. http://www.3dmark.com/spy/26614660
seems like the newest update isnt as good for timespy. else something is wrong, wont pull more then 580w even though i removed all limits and made it 800w limit and 1.4v it wouldnt go higher for some reason..
tryed higher fclk soc voltage etc but nothing...

retestet this with 1.3v, still same score, and tryed lowering watt to max 500+15% pl, still perfect for gaming. so this is surely a game able profile i just made... but for everyday use with full consumption i still hit like 700-800w combined with screen, so ill settle for my eco settings, making roughly 22500 graphic score etc and a combined watt usage of only 400w

I'm on 21.7.1 driver from July 2021. 2.10.x I believe still hasn't been approved for 3DMark.

Outstanding score!!! Mine is a reference so my input and Output power filtering and XT chip will limit me a bit. Will update post.

What card model is your again?

Its a Sapphire toxic Extreme with 360 aio xtxh chip. 🤞

This one to be exactly

Latest driver released seems to be working. Had november 21 Update before. Think it stopped working after messeing around with mpt.

At stock, these cards (6800xt - 6900xt) are very overvolted.
You can max the power limit and try how much you can lower the voltage for the same MHz.
As an example, my current daily settings (6800XT):

I cant go lower Then 1175 at 2600mhz. Even if i go 2300mhz i cant go below 1175mv Then crash in timespy. But i Can do like 2800mhz at 1175 though. 2900+ requires 1.280v to be stable games. 1.3v and 2882 is Max ill get in timespy even 1.375v wont boost it higher for timespy. Only firestrike

Damn thats not bad. And what a Nice temp aswell. Gotta love these Cards. ✌️😃
Especially for Time Spy, I go for lower MHz because I hit 324W and a bit more voltage.
But this thing (TC) is synthetic software and it just uses as many resources as it can get so it is irrelevant.
For example, I hit this result in Shadow of the Tomb Raider Benchmark with these settings which are 100MHz higher than Time Spy and maybe 50W lower...

For Time Spy this are my settings which is far from normal gaming settings:
If I want more I need to set a higher power limit. And if for benchmarks this is fine, for normal gaming is near to pointless, because perf/watt will become really worst.

For all 15+ benchmarks that I play, 3DMark benches are a lot more power-hungry than everything other, and because of that I do not like it

My 6800xt i had before this 6900xt was air cooled from gigabyte, and with only more watt raised from 264watt limit to 330+15% pl i ended up with 21900 graphic score. at stock voltage, and 2450/2550 mhz and 2150fast timing memory, temps after i did thermal grizzly condonaut ended up at max 65% fanspeed around 65temp 83junction perfect for gaming all day long.
but for some reason it didnt like to go above 2550 mhz (ended up with crash.. but if i knew back then i could raise voltage to 1.2v and proberbly go like 2700mhz) i wouldnt have sold and bought this 6900xt to be honest.. but now that i did i didnt regret either, its an amazin card with this aio, low temps, and most part of the time fan aint even turning on during the good air flow i got. battlefield 5, maxed out without ray tracing 1440p, runs 39c and 48 junction at daily settings (1175mv and 2500mhz max) (thats around 22500graphic score) so its pretty silent for everyday usage, and tryed cod mw with these settings aswell, was way above 200fps, all maxed in 1440p aswell, and it aint even close to turning the fans on either in that game, was like 35c temp and 46 junction..

im soooo satisfied by these cards.. works soooo great after repaste thats it.. before repaste both cards was close to hit thermal throttle at stock settings lol...

Nice scores !
So the liquid cooled 6900 XTX (Navi 21 XTXH) seems to offer quite some nice headroom when compared to normal 6900 XT ... wonder where the upcoming/rumored 6950 XT will land, according to reports it would have same GPU+memory as the 6900 XTX, let's hope we will find out in this thread :)

Last week, i installed the EK classic GPU block to integrate the card in my existing EK classic S360-kit loop and did some more tests:
23522: 1175mV, min2403-max2698, VRAM 1130, MPT 360W +15% PL
https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/73815411?

One thing i've noticed when playing with the PL slider:
It was at 360W+4% with the reference aircooler, first runs with WB were with the same settings, and there was always this dip in frequency at the start of the 2nd test ...
So it seems that in my case, that part was still power limited, while the 1st test and most of the 2nd were already frequency limited ?
pl-png.459937

I think i'm now getting voltage limited, setting max frequency higher then 2700 leads to crashes and top power usage doesn't seem to go much higher then 365W in most cases.

Just with mpt newest version ✌. Upped it from 1.2 to 1.250. Noticed not much temp difference. So i thought why not. Upped for 1.3v.

Reference 6900XT 524W 1275mV

I also tried to change the voltage with MPT (v1.3.7) to something higher than 1175, but as soon as i do that, the diver (22.3.1) and card settings become 'locked' at 500Mhz :D
Are you using a combination of newer MPT and/or older drivers, or am i simply doing something wrong ... or not knowing some trick :) ?

Since I only just bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6800XT, I am not going to overclock all that much. However, since I have not done so in a long time, other than to tweak fan speeds, it is still best to just use whatever AMD offers in their Adrenaline software? From what I understand, this card was more or less built to overclock.

Yep - use the driver for OC and fan settings. You can use More Power Tool to increase the power limit if you really want to find the limits of the card.

bl4c3y3

You go to features and make sure temp dependent vmin is marked on. Then go to power table and at right side second from bottom it says something with 800-800. Then change to Maybe 1200-1200. Then your Max vcore Will be 1.2v vs Stock 1.175v. And therefor Maybe some higher boost. You should Daily be able to do 1.250v. But wouldnt go higher Then that for Daily. At that voltage with Max 380w+15%pl im doing like 24500graphic score for Daily gaming and Can run games at 2900mhz boost clock.
