What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Played Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance on PC with my son this weekend. I'll write a review for it when I (or we - I started my own game :D ) beat it. But so far so good. Honestly - this is what an old port/remaster should be. Amazingly enough, the game still plays awesome 20 years later. Don't believe the reviews trashing it. Yes, the asking price is a bit steep for what it is but it's a quality rerelease. Currently playing it on a super potato and it's 60 fps locked at 1080p.

Damn, so glad I came to this thread. I'm going to buy this. Looks great.

I'm really enjoying it! It has tons of weapons, plenty of skills, a nice bow system, etc. The one thing it differs from SotN in a bit, is that it doesn't have armor (clothing, armor, accessories). I kind of miss that. I always liked picking up things like sunglasses that raised one stat, but lowered intelligence :D (always made me laugh in SotN) Otherwise though, it's very much similar. The music is also better in SotN, but then there aren't a lot of games that touch that game even now, so to be expected I think. It's not bad at all, just not in the same class as SotN. Excellent game so far though. I'm not sure what percentage I've played through, but I'm pretty far in. I'm on act 4, and the areas associated with each act are decently sized. You can travel back and forth at will too (plenty of teleportation and save rooms).

Playing Destiny 2 - free for now on PC. Played Destiny 1 when it first came out on PS4. Completely different. Trying to see if I want to pony up the cash.
Outriders...still playing this on PC, trying to complete the CT15 expeditions in solo.

Finally knocked out Witcher 3. I got the hang of Gwent about 3/4 of the way through the game (I typically do not care for these games within games). So after beating the main story I went through and completed the side quests and collecting the cards was actually quite fun. I might purchase the physical card set I found on ebay.

Next on the list is either Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age...I'm leaning towards Dragon Age.

Dragon Age is for sure a good next step. Unless you are ready for a change of pace and want to go Sci-Fi and then back to the countryside of Dragon Age. Both are great choices for your next adventure.

J3RK Dude thanks so much for the dead cells recommendation, finally cleared it tonight and have a bunch more playing to do. I needed that, i think i'm content with it till horizon comes out in two weeks. Thanks man, i will follow your recommendations with great interest.

Currently playing through Hitman 3 on the Gamepass. I've certainly got a bit to rant about.

1) Why doesn't Hitman have his iconic dual Silverballers? It was crucial to the identity of the Agent 47 character, and they were always a blast to use. There's not one imaginable reason why they weren't included in this new Hitman series other than to spite fans of the older games.

2) The game is too easy. Even with the difficulty maxed and instinct mode turned off, all you have to do is walk out of the line of sight of any NPCs, shoot your target, and run. Are there alternative ways to kill these people? Sure, but there's no incentive given to do so. Sitting around the level observing NPC schedules and overhearing chitter chatter has never been my idea of a good time.

3) I can appreciate the game's level design, but I'm given the impression that this new Hitman series was made in service of the levels, rather than the levels being made in service of the game. The original Hitman games were never quite this pedantic in their design. And this game's level design might he even worse than the last two games.

Thankfully I'm only playing this due to the $1 Ultimate Gamepass deal that was shared on this forum, so I can at least be happy I got to play it for nearly free.

Got back into Cyberpunk. I re-started a campaign from scratch (since it's been about a year since I last played) and I'm having a good time. I'm trying to play in a similar way as my first go, but I've already gone down a completely different path, which is kinda amazing.

Nice!!

I’m happy you enjoyed it!

Rainbow Six extraction one hard game when you start out.
Jumped to the 2nd map after losing about 6-8 operators but rescued a few of them got one to level 3.
Got a revive tool where if your knocked down you can get back up but it doesn't help if your swamped by 3-4 bad guys.

Uncharted Legacy of Thieves. I made it through the normal U4 storyline and am ready to begin Lost Legacy. The higher FPS, better sound, and improved visuals are absolutely welcome. I'm noticing lots of things I didn't see in the original game already. While 85% the same, the additional PS5 stuff = literally the exact things I wanted in the originals.

Lolo 2 and Actraiser & various vintage pinball machines.
I don't miss my dystopian future, just love the past.
And whole hell I gottz my IL-2 and MSFS for VR when I need to know what happiness is!

Streets of Rage 4 coop with my kids. So damn good. Played it on our big system (projector, old school Marantz amplifier powering some floor standing speakers) and pumped that volume up. What a blast.
Sounds fun!

I'll probably be playing Spiderman on my base ps4 slim soon, finally... Sad there's no news of a pc port for it, and I can't justify a ps5 just to play it remastered. I'd rather play it on my pc anyway.

Witcher 3 and Mass Effect:Andromeda. Playing 2 "similar" games at the same time has made me frustrated with the lack of commonization of controls; namely run, jump and dodge.

Has anyone seen that Cyberpunk 2077 is now giving 5 hr trial of the game but only on Xbox and ps5... Kinda sucks they left the master race out

How is it so far? I beat the first boss really giving me serious Castlevania nes vibes!

I like it so far. It feels good, music is good, etc. It kind of also reminds me of Rygar on the NES. Maybe less in play, but more in style. I haven’t made it it too far yet though, because my daughter won’t let me stop playing River City Girls :D

Love this game!

It’s like they smashed SoR and Final Fight together, added a little something here and there, and shook it all up. :D

Between this and River City Girls I’ve played more beat-em-ups over the past few weeks than I have in a couple of decades!

Also playing on 87” TV with good sound.

Amen. Nothing like the big screen experience with this one. 87 inches? Damn!

Costco had a deal on them a couple years back. Couldn’t pass it up. It’s not THE most incredible TV ever, but for the price, size, and features of the time I had to do it.

There are exactly 6” on each side left on that wall, so, you know, maybe in three years…. :D

Have you tried beholgar yet? It's got mixed reviews so I haven't gotten it yet
