Forza Horizon 5 (Mexico)

Anyone have some optimized settings targeting 4k/120FPS on a 3080/3090? I just started playing again and am trying to make the game look as good as possible at high framerates.
The game isn't demanding. You can easily run with the highest settings for that resolution and framerate target with a 3080.

This game is absolutely dope af.
I was just looking at it yesterday. It looks like you only get about 6 cars if you buy the standard version. If you want access to all the cars, you have to pay over $100 for it.

Is that the case, or did I miss something?

You can win so many with wheel spins, I've never bought any. I've already won 1 car and less than 2 hours in.

in forza 4 I had over 100 cars and never bought any.

Without the car pass the game comes with over 500 cars. They also add new cars every seasonal cycle that don't cost any real money which you earn from completing the weekly challenges. All the car pass adds to the game is one new "premium" car every week.

Forza Horizon games are the only ones where you never have to worry about credits and buying stuff. Just keep spinning.

wow, this game feels surprisingly good with my Fanatec GT DD. way way better than i thought it would. it felt like crap at first (way too much general resistance) but i just had to turn the damping slider all the way down and now i'd say it's as nearly good as most sims i play (not as good as ACC for example but for the type of game it is, blew me away.) driving offroad is 10x more fun as you can actually feel the suspension coping with everything

I've been so tempted to get that wheel for both GT7 and FH5. Good to know it works good for them... need to actually put money in my real car tho lol

there's an issue with FH5 currently, as i found out today... the game crashes on the regular with the latest fanatec v439 driver. there's a work around of using 2 year old v434 drivers but they don't support the GT DD Pro :/ so i wouldn't get it for FH5 until it gets patched (apparently the issue is on FH5's end but who really knows.) however the wheel is great with GT7 and everything else i've tried so far.

just wanted to update you on the post i made yesterday... there's actually a beta Fanatec driver (version 440) that fixed the FH5 crashing issue :)

Horizon 5's legacy will be as a recycling bin with all the recycled ideas and content.

Yep. Not to mention they are 6 months late, prior to FH5 they had 2 expansions out at this point. I bet the second one will be pushed out to November and be another recycled idea. At this point im pretty sure the purpose of FH5 is to fill the gap left from development of FM8.

My theory is that most players haven't played the original version (myself included). Especially with game pass and all the new players to the series, the number of people who feel this is recycling will be relatively small. They will get away with it and it will be a success, at least in the short term as their long term loyal fans will be a little unhappy.

"Oh no, an expansion pack came out 6 months later than the one for the previous game, I'm going to whine and cry about it now."
I wonder what could have happened to cause a short delay in a game's production?

The Hot Wheels expansion isn't a recycled idea any more than Horizon 5, PART FIVE, is. People look forward to the Lego expansion in the same way they looked forward to THE FIFTH horizon game.

If you don't like "recycled ideas" you shouldn't be playing this or any other sequel, ever.

I guess its unreasonable to expect a game developer to do good work and anything else is whining and crying and i should just not play the game unless i love it and enjoy recycled ideas.

Also it's funny to read the "woke" comments above about a character creator in a racing game... it's always the people who use words like "woke" that get mad at everyone around them for getting offended at everything... but a character designer in a RACING game, and the ability to create a pronoun... how do people constantly get upset at things that literally don't affect them personally whatsoever? It's recreational outrage over something that doesn't at all apply to you personally.
Ah, the old "people who notice snowflake behavior are the REAL snowflakes" retort. Laugh it up. You may not be interested in #WOKE, but #WOKE is most certainly interested in you. You not only will be made to care, but you will be made to participate.

I'm assuming the GamepPass version won't be getting this stuff? I liked the game, but it kinda ran its course after I completed all of the missions and maxed out 3-4 different vehicle types. I'd welcome more content, but I'm already paying for GamePass every month as it is. I'm open to paying for something worthwhile, but I'd rather not.

Also, people love to be upset about things. Something is either too inclusive or not inclusive enough. Too derivative, or they don't care about their real fans. "Woke" or "America peaked in the 1980's." It's easier to care about random stuff when you're convinced that everything is an affront to what you believe.

im pretty sure game pass is the base level of the game and the rest is extra.

Series 9 update is scheduled to launch on Tuesday, June 21st...with it PC players are finally getting Temporal Antialiasing (TAA) support...

"as an alternative to multi-sample anti-aliasing (MSAA), TAA reduces shimmering by blending multiple video frames and ensuring frame to frame differences are smoothed. Additional detail is captured, resulting in a softer image that works particularly well at lower resolutions...our TAA implementation in Forza Horizon 5 minimizes trails and ghosting as is typically seen with this technique. Players can also customize its final appearance using a sharpness control

We think this is a great, new option for PC gamers, improving our tree foliage while ensuring a smoother, more stable gaming experience overall"

Just curious, how much additional content is the Hot Wheels pack in terms of tracks and hours? The descriptions are all over the place. One article makes it sound like a few tracks and some new cars. Another one implies it overhauls the entire game. Anyone have any impressions to share?

I think if you burn through the challenges it's a few (less than 10) hours- the game sets you up on the slow cars with forced progression, but it opens up a bit after that. It's a whole new zone, so that's visually interesting. I would say it's more "a few tracks and some new cars" than an overhaul (which it is absolutely not).

I probably did about two hours and got a bit bored- just not my type of driving.

Game crashes by the second fly-by of the jet for hot wheels intro race. The massive amount of stability and technical issues FH5 has had from the start killed my enthusiasm for the game, sadly.

What game stability issues? I've never had any crashes. Played through many sessions several hours long at a time without problems.
