Folding@Home bigadv EOL 3rd Anniversary Challenge: [H] vs TAAT

I don't have the right software to show that, but how about 9.7 million ppd on a 3080TI. And thats with lowered wattage.

I think the reason some of my GPUs are not getting more PPD is because they are power limited (139 watts for one). The 3080 Ti, 3060, one 3060 Ti and 2080 Super are running full tilt, the others are not using more power for some reason and that limits the PPD. I can get full power out of 2080 Super on x1 riser, but the 3070 is hitting PL and no matter what I do in Afterburner, it won't go above 139 watts. The 3080 Ti will vary it's watt usage as I adjust PL, but 3070 is being stubborn... I also have a 3060 Ti in other rig doing the same thing. Anyway, just an update on hardware issues and that these cards can and do work fin in x1 risers.

Test one covid WU.

Ubuntu 20.04 | 205W

vs arnemetis, same project and atoms size other than different run, clone and generation (RCG) numbers.
Windows 10 | 3070 Ti @ 245W / 3060 Ti @ 110W (seems I should give it more juice)

So a 40W increase (19.5%) in power limit from my 205W setting should result in at least 11.3% increase in PPD (vs Arnemetis). Well different OSes and high power setting gets more points, lol.

Mark, I assume you are running under mint with power limit of xxx watts? With ubuntu 20.04 @ 205W, my PPD for this same project with same card is 5.2M.
I think the default was 325 and I am set at 300. EVGA FTW3, the best they have, newegg shuffle. Mint 20.3

Ok I tweaked them a bit, they seem a bit happier here, especially the 3060 ti. They are onto the next unit and they are maintaining a +%.

Latest twitter update from FAH team. Backup drive may potentially be bad or other component failure. Seems like they are not very sure yet of the root cause. Hoping that things will sort out by tomorrow [fingers crossed]

I had to drop down to 4 cards dedicated to F@H and left the other 2 mining. I only have a Pentium Gold cpu in there with 4 threads. Attempting all 6 left them with low power draw and the 6th card idle. Now the 4 on F@H are pulling over 75% power.

Settled on the power limit for my 3090, seems nice and stable now and a bit better performance wise too. Now clocking in at 350W, still Win 10:

Edit: The new 3060 ti is also settling in, currently at 195W, fresh Win 10 install.

Try bumping the clock up by 50-100 and the memory +750 :D watch your temps lol. With that project running in windows I was seeing memory temps up to 100c on my asus tuf 3090
3080ti

Here is a project 18201 Alzheimers in linux with 350w

A little improvement, sure. I had been running the core and mem at 0 for this one, since I had those WHEAs. Now that those seem under control, I gave this a try. Temps are no problem, core of 46 and memory junction of 74.

Ok, I'm all set on stats. Time zero was after the EOC 9 PM CST update.

The race has started!

That's great ppd vs watts.

Here's full tilt:

Here is [H] top 30 contributors since the race started. I'll try to post at least daily or twice a day update. Stats based on EOC xml file downloaded directly from EOC site (active users only)
The team total matches biodoc number based on stat pulled at 4am/6m PT/CT.

If you want to be in the top 30 total contributors, fold more ;)

Yeah, their entire team wouldn't surpass us, I guess. I mean, we have a lot of crypto guys here and crypto is down, so they are inclined to move over. If crypto was booming we wouldn't see half of what we are.
I switched party because crypto is down but I made the decision to participate before crypto dropped as much as it has lately. I also wanted to see how many PPD I could get since I have the means of generating some serious PPD compared to what I used to fold at, which was less than 750,000 PPD a couple of years ago. I enjoyed the challenge of working at getting all the cards save one (a 1070 Ti) up and running and then some tweaking. I could get more PPD from what I have if I had another powerful computer to handle the cards better than my dinosaur Athlon 435 socket AM2+ system!

Oh yeah, I’m in the top 10 baby!

I know you don’t technically need more for mining, but seems like you could use a 5600x or something to replace the 435. Would probably be more energy efficient to boot!

CPU does use 90 watts when it is not in an idle state, but it has been a rock solid and reliable system! I don’t feel like buying a new system for mining, I’m not sure how much longer I want to continue mining. I did buy a used Intel 6600 CPU and higher end Gigabyte Z170 board for a second mining rig from the FS/FT forum. It has been decent. I’m waiting for DDR 5 and all the new protocols before upgrading again.

When I decided ona dedicated folding rig. I went for parts that could be used for a long time a d still hold a bit of resale value. Running 9900k will even ne a upgrade for my daughter if she needs it. Installed 3 water cooled gpus and no hold backs or bottlenecks. I am of the old school type who over build from the start to give plenty of head space in the future.
