NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is real

Not until you can buy one, and really not until you can buy one for MSRP.
Yeah, its impossible to get excited about a new graphics card, has been for a couple years now. Either you can't buy em in stores or they are too expensive. Maybe Intel can affect the market somehow with their new GPU, or at least saturate the market enough where we get some "deals" on pricing.

That is going to be very dependent on how Intel gets their cards to market, if they launch them the same as any other product to date then if they are priced well compared to the AMD & Nvidia offerings then bots will snag them for sure and the 3'rd party sellers will gladly spread that gap bringing them back to parity with what's already not out there.

I doubt Intel will change much with the current situation (especially since they are sourced from TSMC). It might be nice on launch day, but it will be business as usual once the greedy scalpers do their dirty.

Unless Intel pulls an Intel and mostly supplies the GPU’s to OEM’s for next to nothing, releases a few to the retail channels and ensures every reviewer they can gets one as well. I could see Intel prioritizing the OEM’s for this.

Well, yes. I believe that is exactly what they are doing. They have already confirmed the first OEM shipment (which sounded substantial) went out before CES. Which honestly is not a bad strategy.

Only advantage to rtx 3090ti is fact memory is not on the backside less heat problems. Kinda late since 4090 isnt far off.

The GPU segment has gone full retard. Who in their right mind thinks spending $3k++ on a graphics card is a good idea? Other than miners.... oh wait, duh.

Reports indicate all the cards impacted could fit in one gym duffle bag.
Do you have a link? From what I have read Nvidia have asked all their AIB's to stop makiing all 3090 Ti's, that doesn't sound like one bag's worth...

I'm just gonna keep using my Vega 64 and RX 580s until ??? . This bubble will eventually burst. Hell look at the steam hardware stats, we're creeping up on the 4k series from NV, and the top 10 GPUs look like this..

There is no sustainable market for these insanely overpriced GPUs outside mining. Just like Bitcoin before it, GPU mining will eventually become not worth it, and both NV and AMD are going to be hurting badly trying to dump stock imho.

Things dont really happen in absolutes anymore. The "flood of cheap GPUs" everyone insists must be inevitable isn't going to unfold as previously since too many things are different than before. Removing crypto mining and gaming, there's still more demand globally for GPU compute power, in more markets than before. GPUs are the new CPUs in a lot of markets.

Unless the US, UK, and EU all outright ban bitcoin transactions mining isn’t going anywhere. Even if Eth ever goes through with their promised changes, I doubt that will cause this flood people have been predicting since late 2020.

Even if Eth goes through with the changes, there will be another token that the GPU miners will latch on to in order to continue to use their hardware and the cycle will repeat. The cat's out of the bag.

Is it only me that is worried about PC gaming's future if it keeps continuing like this, why don't we already see headlines like "The graphics cards are too expensive -Tim Sweeney" You'd think high profile industry figures would start to react but it's been rather silent so far. PC tends to be the platform for testing new engines and graphically intensive titles but there's probably no market for that for much longer so we are going to see shifts more to console development titles with PC ports or more indie games with less advanced graphics and slower technological advancements from the big players.

Honestly, PC gaming is basically going to be dead unless something changes. But the consoles are still even hard to get too, so maybe everything is screwed.

The reality is Crypto is the lion share, anyone with their eyes open can see it and it makes sense. If you can buy a producy and basically print money with it, that product will never have stock until you can no longer print money with it.

Also, CPUs are easy to find at MSRP (or even below). If the problem was simply manufacturing or logistics, then we wouldn't be able to get CPUs either, but there is no supply issue with processors.

Ding ding. Yeah it's pretty easy to justify paying double MSRP when you know it's gonna at least pay for itself or half of itself. We had shortages before mining but never this severe. Things would drop and you'd have a few hours to decide/buy. Now, if you're not blindly entering in your CC info 5 seconds into the drop you've already missed it. Wtf did you buy? You have no idea until you get the confirmation email.

If I could buy a fridge and the fridge would everyday print $10 and pay for itself in about 8 months, well fridges would be OOS.

I'm being a smartass. I honestly don't know the yields. I do know what they're generally producing more 3080 Tis and 3090 just from the amount that I see bots getting. It could be there's also less competition for these specific cards as well.

I kind of doubt those markets are clamoring to pay double MSRP for a used and abused 2070. GPU compute is a very powerful thing that many fields are leveraging, but they aren't leveraging it in the form of the OMFGBBQPWNEER 90000 RGB Aorus Strix Red Devil 4080XT.

This GPU is recalled no longer in production story on Videocardz

RTX 3090 Ti Delayed Indefinitely !?

TL;DR: NVIDIA can't yield enough fully enabled GA102 dies that hit high enough clocks at the 450W TDP, may have to raise to 500W - because of this, NVIDIA advises AIBs/OEMs to halt production as they can't guarantee cooling requirements or availability

Wow, the fact this happened after publicly announcing the card is a gigantic blunder.
It's a MLID post, so I wouldn't put much stock into it. NVIDIA has a habit of releasing "new" cards at the same time as competitors to disrupt them, so they may just be holding off until Intel releases Arc. AMD is also rumored to be releasing the 6950XT and 6850XT in April, so that is another prime target for NVIDIA.

WCCFTech (I know) is already posting rumors there won't be a 6850XT (or not at the same times as the 6950XT).
