Alldocube X Neo

Are there currently any advantages with Android 12 compared to 11? I see some with version L, but afaik that hasn't been released yet.

Is there a glitch in the matrix or why have all posts from Allexbast disappeared? Same at 4pda forum thread. I hope you saved the files. :)

Yeah... everything is gone before I actually had time to get around to testing it (holidays plus planning on a big move). If anyone has them, please provide a cloud link!

Good evening,
after a week of testing I am now very satisfied. In the end I have now flashed crdrom-v313 + 211013-arm64-bgZ (Android 11) in combination with the Port_TWRP3.5.2_9-0_T1009_global_v01 from Allebast WITHOUT Magist on the current international ROM, adapted according to the tips from Allebast. And it all works very smoothly.
I will leave the system as it is now and will not continue to research towards AOSP12.
Here are the files from Allebast that are still on my computer, maybe that will help you?
Without this forum I would not have been able to do it, so many thanks again, especially to Allebast, and CrimsonNight13.

Good evening,
unfortunately I can't manage the files:
-6GB flash
-TWRP 3.52
from ALLLEBAST to attach here.
How does it work?

You can create an free account at mega.nz or try any free file service like ufile.io. I think CrimsonKnight13 will publish the files later at his mega-drive.

Guys, why do you need these files. You end up returning to stock firmware anyway. The same is on 4PDA. It is better not to flash the tablet with gsi firmware at all, in order to avoid problems. I can say that even the stock is not optimized, but the developer has long abandoned updating the firmware

Allexbast, has someone taken over your account? A GSI rom is the best thing that could have happened to the X Neo, I am happy with these roms since September 2020.

More advanced users definitely want GSI. You've reacted to those that don't fully understand it all. Totally nuking your accounts & posts seems quite a knee jerk reaction. I would like the files in order to test & update the guide with acknowledgement of your hard work.

This tool changed the partition markup

Wrong actions will instantly lead to a brick of the tablet!!!

You can proportionally increase all partitions in slot a and shrink all partitions in slot b. Of course, I wanted to completely change all partitions for efficient memory use. But if the standard partitions contain service information, then it is unlikely that even qfil will be able to restore the tablet. I would also like to get the kernel sources. With these, you can easily add support for the f2fs filesystem. It is faster than ext4

I'll work on it ASAP & update the guide afterwards with a new section for this specific flashing process.

I think I bricked the tablet after the 6GB expansion...

If anyone can make a backup/restore QCN file from a stock firmware & share it, I'd greatly appreciate it. Partition restoration is the only way to go from that type failure...

Flash the stock chinese firmware via qfil

Is your tablet charging in this state?
Check how the tablet reacts to a combination of buttons. To bootloader and recovery.
I'll give you a qsn backup, only later
I haven't explored it in-depth this week. I'll look into it by the weekend since there's no rush for me.

Also... I do know how to work my way around Android devices. o_O

Good luck recovering your tablet.
Thanks. I'll try but it seems ALLDOCUBE & many other Chinese tablet manufacturers cut way too many corners. Usually hit walls when tinkering with them. I think I'm done buying the cheap "premium" tablets that wind up burning my money & giving me headaches.

I'll update anything I figure out here... but I honestly don't have high hopes due to how many headaches I had with it at the beginning.

Great! Just to avoid similar bootloops at my device in the future, don't you mean rawprogram0.xml?

Newest phh AOSP 12 build plus Magisk don't seem to boot. I wonder if its a conflict with the built-in superuser binaries. I'll have to hunt for a fix or a different ROM.

Edit: I forgot about this method

Bash:
mount -o remount,rw /
mv /bin/resetprop /bin/phh-resetprop
phh-securize.sh

Won't boot for me at all with the newest Magisk. I'll have to securize it through adb shell via TWRP first.

I had to reinstall the stock firmware mod 6gb due to the hang of any gsi build, it freezes several times a day. The reason is not clear. Apparently for this reason, everyone is switching back to stock.

You could try running the normal Treble config with a smaller GSI img w/o the 6GB mod (using the original xml file from the global ROM) & see how it goes. There's a possibility that the kernel is having issues with the larger space & altered partition table.

In windows, you can unpack vmlinux with the 7z archiver. You did not look at the difference between Chinese and global firmware?

Not really. I'm familiar with compiling kernels but never really dug into Android kernel & vendor images much.

I'll eventually upload the combined version of the modified firmware with the TWRP boot image included. After that, I'll work on the next version of the guide. The main caveat is that GSI images will need to be tested since the modified stock image is the most stable.

Did you format data? Afaik there is still an incompatibility depending encryption at A12 and TWRP. Going from A11 to A12 my phone did not boot without formatting data .
