[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears for Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX

I got blocked from evga's website when I tried to go there. Havent gone to their website in months, bummer..

Microcenter .. I never under stood that clown act of store placements = When you have 4 = Wake Forest / Duke / UNC / NC State / App State / ECU not counting A & T State (NASA) / UNC G / High Point U / Winston - Salem State / Elon College all with in 2 or 3 hours from each other makes you wonder WTF is Your Problem (bias any)

And only one in CA, none in the bay since 2012... arguably the biggest tech product market in the country.

When do Microcenters usually get stock? I am 1200 miles round trip to the closest one and am trying to figure out if there is a way to do this?
1200 miles… factor in gas and time and honestly secondary pricing doesn’t sound so bad. Not to mention you’re going to see $1100-1200 prices for a 3080 at MC anyways, so might as well just shoot for that 3080ti or 3090 FE at Bestbuy and save yourself the time and gas money.

Also, get your discord alerts working. Being blunt, if you can’t get discord alerts working right you’re not trying hard enough to get a card at MSRP.

So Evga wants me to remove myself from the que for the regular 3080 or the 3080 ti so I can add this one since it now says only 2 cards can be in the que. So a few GB more memory for hundreds more bucks and I lose my position in line which I have been in since the end of 2020?

It actually sounds like they will be handling the queues independently. Not crystal clear to me.

Products in queue prior to 2022 will still be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. They are not part of the Queue 3.0 ruleset. You may purchase a product from either or both of your notifications signed up from Queue 2.0 or earlier.

If you remove one or both of your active notifications, your next notify will be subject to the Queue 3.0 rules.

Please note that it is highly recommended to remove all inactive VGA notifications from your account before removing active notifications. Notifications that have been removed by user or are currently marked inactive cannot be made active again.

When I try to add

EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING

I get the following message in red

You may only sign up for 2 VGA queues at a time. If you wish to remove a notification and replace it with 12G-P5-4877-KL, please click here to make changes to your notifications.

Well that answers that. Roll the dice that your current queues will be filled before the products are eol, or get in the new one I guess.

The first score snapshot will be at NOON EST tomorrow.
Make sure you register any cards if you haven't yet.

edit:
Okay, existing queues aren't affected by "Queue 3.0" thus making it 99% pointless.

So the whales that have been buying EVGA for the longest and registering the most products get first dibs Is what I'm understanding.. No? I mean if the "EVGA" score is calculated by those factors than the more frequent buyers with the most participation get to keep doing it before the casuals who want a GPU every couple of years.

Maybe I'm wrong but at least they are doing something. EVGA cards have always been good to me and are my first choice when going green.

Whales aka "loyal customers"...
I hope forum participation is the biggest weight ("blue flags" or whatever). That's probably the best indicator of a good customer.

It says if you already bought a 30 series card, you are pushed to the back of your tier. For the highest tiers, that's probably EVERYONE in the tier, so it does nothing.

Looks like demand is so high they disabled the notify system. If you arent already in line you'll probably never see one...Screenshot_20220111-081158_Discord.jpg

Yeah I queued up just after 9 AM EST but just now deleted it because I'm not spending that much on a 3080...

how much are they going for?

Are the queue times better for lesser cards? I'm talking like 3060s.

What other ways are people getting notifications of drops? I'm looking more at lower end cards now 3060s, 6600xts, etc.

queue 3.0 is going to have people buying cheap EVGA products to register so t hey get a better EVGA score...

guess I should go register the 5 PSU I have...even though I bought them through their store.

Just sounds like more "Work" just to get a video card.

$1299, pretty gross imo

I'm pretty sure the popular opinion at the time was that the 2080ti was Titan money for a gaming GPU and the 1k+ price wasn't considered great. If crypto wouldn't have taken off again we could have had some of the best price/perf in a long time if MSRP on the 30 series actually held up. But here we are and pricing isn't coming down too much any time soon if ever.

Sooo, I thought Elite customers would get a 24h head start on new product queues. Did that not happen for the 12g 3080?

Loyal EVGA customers don't actually count:

"Deprioritized" is what you are, now.

If you have purchased a 30 series card at EVGA - you ain't getting another anytime soon.

It seems to me that if you purchased a 30 series, but not from evga, you will not be deprioritized. My 30 series was actually from newegg, so I could technically still enter. The 3080 should have been a 12 GB card from the start IMHO. It almost seems like nVidia knew some of this crap was going to happen and left themselves an avenue to string out the 30 series longer than any other series in history.

So what is the point of giving the EVGA Elite members 24hours early access to their queues?

The de-prioritization seems to negate that

It really depends on the size and amount of tiers... I guess?
For example in the "$0" tier, nobody has purchased a 30 series GPU so you're all equal.
In the "$5,000" tier, nearly everyone has probably purchased one, so it won't affect that tier at all.

It's the tiers around $500 I think that are the biggest mix of both 30 series owners and non-owners.

Then you have to consider the weight of non-purchase related "score points". People with lots of forum posts could be in the highest tier, with no 30 series purchase, which would put them ahead of the entire tier.
Not enough information to judge. IMO it seems like their old system from October was better, when non-owners were bumped to the front of the line.

Yes, basically the system is now opaque and no one can complain easily, which I believe is part of the intent to make things easier for them. Earlier if you got a notification for a SKU and I didn't having signed up earlier, I had some justification to call and complain, now I have no idea what tier you and I are in so we keep guessing, unless they make your 'evga score' and tier known to users.

Keep in mind this only affects new card launches from here on out.
So the 3080 12 GB, 3090 Ti, and 3050 so far. Aside from the 3080 12 GB you can still sign up for the new cards right at release and be as close to the front of the queue as possible.

It's not that big of a deal since it only applies to a few cards. If this is the end of the 30 series releases then it all resets when the 40 series launches. Assuming we even need queues at that point, eh?
