Following the official reveal of the Xbox Series X at the 2019 Video Game Awards, Microsoft showed off a trailer for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, the follow-up to Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Sacrifice...

I wonder if we could expect this to be a bit longer than the first one since they made a good amount on the first game and also may have some Microsoft funding now. I felt the first game was a little short, I remember beating it in about 7-8hrs, though I did enjoy it even though it was pretty simplistic.

Pretty annoying music going on there. Was that supposed to be Viking rap?

Wasn't the first game basically just a walking simulator? This doesn't look like a walking simulator trailer.

I wouldn't really consider it a walking simulator but I can see how you would get that impression. It actually had a few puzzles and some boss fights, but in a cinematic experience. It tried to do a lot of things at once, it didn't do anything amazing, the strongest point of the game was it's sound design which was actually amazing.

It was solid given it was also a budget title. The 8 hours pretty acceptable for a $30 game.

A Microsoft representative has confirmed that Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 will be released for both PC and the upcoming Xbox Series X...

Make sense. MS owns them now. And all of MS exclusives are to be released on PC and Xbox, simultaneous. Along with instant access on XBGP. Gears 5 was the first showing of this.

I love that they do this, but it also gives enthusiasts us almost zero incentive to get their console. I own a gaming PC and every console besides the Xbone (well my son has one that I've never touched) because there's no real exclusives on it.

So far the PS4 has the best exclusives by far, which I'm sure contributed to them dominating the console market this generation and is why MS acquired those new studios this year in order to compete better next generation.

Anyways, never played the first game from this, although it looked great and had mixed reviews, just didn't seem like it was worth bumping the other higher-tier titles that I have in my backlog for this. This trailer certainly looks good though and I enjoyed DF's analysis of it as well.

Its Heilung. A group that does modern interpretation of celtic (or pagan in general) shamanic ritual music. I love some of their stuff, particularly songs where the female singer is in spotlight like this one.

I recently played the first game, and it was great. It wrapped up nicely, so a sequel wasn't needed, I don't know where they're going to go with it, but, I'm definitely going to play this.

The last time I heard music this bad was the MK11 trailer with that mumble rap bullshit.

Senua's Sacrifice was such an immersive game... I loved it. I played it for about 2 hours in one sitting one time with headphones on, had to take a break from it, and on the way to my fridge, was still hearing her voice moving around my head like it does in game for the next few minutes. The way they did audio for the game (binaural recording) was something to be experienced, it's jarring in a really good way.

Eagerly awaiting the sequel.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is one of the first games to use Unreal Engine 5 so at the very least it should be some nice eye candy...

The song in the teaser trailer is this

I use some of their music is Skyrim, works well, great for fighting Dragons!

Great for getting even with annoying neighbors at 3am too :p

watching that reveal trailer again, graphics looked great but it looked more like a music video then a gameplay trailer...

If they do away with the tribal birthmark on her face I'm in. I like clean women not tattoos everywhere on their face.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II– A Saga In The Making

Here’s an update on the development of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, the next chapter in Senua’s journey...

Way too trippy yuk game give people relapse.

They should just motion capture her instead.
Melina Juergens is literally the actor who plays Senua. You still need to model the actor you're capturing motion from. It isn't some magical process where the actor just pops into existence digitally when their motion is captured and processed.
