[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears for Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX

You choose buy now, pay later, then the service called Zip. It uses your normal credit card and splits the payment in 4.

Big b-stock. Entire site crashed after about 3 seconds.
They also added code verification for your login, and wiped cookies sometime today because I already did the code yesterday, and I was still logged in this morning. But now I was logged out tonight. It even said it would remember my PC for future logins, but still asked for a new code.

edit: Yeah the site is so lagged it won't even accept my code. Gotta start checking this often.

Several cards have lasted 5+ minutes, there's some big problems happening on their site lol. Anyone who was smart enough (or lucky enough) to verify their account right before the restock just had dozens of cards handed to them on a silver platter.

Alright so EVGA also added a logout timer on their website, if you're inactive for more than 1-2 hours (don't know the exact time) you're automatically logged out.
When you log back in, you have to enter the 6-digit verification code again. You can circumvent this by running the EVGA store in a background tab and setting a refresh timer. Ta-da, solved. I'm guessing this could also just be a cookie error on their website, since login codes like this are usually only applied ONCE to prevent your account from being stolen. The site tells me I'm using an Unknown Device every time I login, so clearly something is broken.

I would have caught this new "security feature" sooner, but EVGA doesn't normally do restocks on Monday so I didn't check the site today. What a shame. If they had done the restock tomorrow I'd be swimming in GPUs, lol.

Also, this feature does nothing to stop bots, it only hurts humans. Since, as a human, you can't possibly refresh the site constantly. Eventually you get logged out, then when a restock happens, you're fucked.
A bot is literally the tool you need to bypass it.

Just packaged up my 3070Ti for shipping tomorrow. Stepping up to a 3080 vanilla. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that people queued for the damn 3080s a year ago and still haven't received one, while I'm getting one ofd a step up after less than 6 months of a wait, while enjoying a GPU. It'll be on B-stock soon enough for you guys.

They use some of those returned cards as RMA replacements. I don't know how they decide which are used for RMAs and which go to B-Stock. They probably just send excess stock to B-Stock and keep the spares.

People have been buying low-end GT cards for like $50 and using them to get instant step-ups. EVGA can't disable step-ups entirely since it's part of their marketing, but they should have drastically reduced their step-up supply when they launched the queues last year. I still don't know why they are sending so many cards to step-up, surely they make more money off fresh sales.

I have all but given up on getting the notify for the one 3080 I lined up for from EVGA...

Probably see the 1 year anniversary on this one!

3080 XC3 Gaming 3883 09/16/2020 11:14:32 is the latest queue spot thats been reported. You're probably, honestly, never going to get it.

For one it is the KR variant which they don't produce anymore. You should of gotten a email if you want to switch to the LR one. Also you picked the lowest tier of their 3080 which they don't produce much of. They probably sold 25 to 1 of the FTW3 model.

For sure . I did get an email and thought it was switched to the LR and looks like it isn't and the 3060 I have on there is also the KR model. Looks like both are dead ends for me.

Yeah, I hear that card is... *ahem*... En Vogue.

Same, was sitting in the 3080 que all year until they changed the 2 max for the 30 series. Never got a notify on any model. Just swapped a year old 3070 for a stepped up 3080.

Also, the step up was automatically updated from the original KR to the KL variant. Original registration 10G-P5-3897-KR versus step up model 10G-P5-3897-KL. Both were labeled EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING. I registered the step up on 12/22/20, fwiw.

What is sad is that you can step up to a card in the same series over a year after the series was introduced.

tgt p5 drop was super f***ed this morning, got in on the last 2 smaller drops but every bot was gunning for tgt knowing how much stock they had especially stellar. congratulations to those that won the p5 game this morning.

You guys are persistent. I gave up chasing consoles months ago. I will just wait until one can be purchased reliably at any online retailer without having to fight bots and hordes of people waiting in queue. It's not worth my time chasing notifications that never bear fruit if you can't jump on one immediately.

At the rate it's going, PS6 will be announced by the time you can buy a PS5 at retail for MSRP without winning a lottery. Feel lucky I got a launch model from Wal-Mart last year when the drop was officially pretty much over, but availability starting trickling in late.

A card hunter is duty bound to never give up the chase. All manual, I believe in sportsmanship :)

Warning, if you click your EVGA queue email for a card you don't want the card will be stuck in your cart for 20 hours.

Another B-Stock tonight, EVGA's checkout system has completely crashed about halfway through.
Some cards have been sitting for over 15 minutes now lol.

edit: Nearly an hour later and everything is finally gone.

Crazy drop only got a 2070s after a lot of effort, did you manage to grab any?

The best value cards on their B-Stock store are the 30 series, the 2060/Super and the 16 Supers. I use UBlock to filter out other cards.
The other cards are quite overpriced, some worse than others, it's better to spend checkout time trying to get something else.

Things were getting better in June/July after LHR cards hit. But then Crypto took off again in August, plus all the new LHR circumventions (I think they're up to 70-80% now), the situation has gotten slowly worse since then.
Also moving into the holiday season makes it even worse from there.

It should lighten up a little in January. Probably an inperceptible improvement for most people, though. We all just have to sit on our hands and wait for something to change in the Crypto space (for GPUs anyway). I doubt the market naturally fixes itself until mining isn't profitable anymore.

I'm more shocked that consoles are still fucked.

EVGA must have a glut of 3070 TI's.

Registered a 3060 for Step up on 12/1. Invoiced on 12/6. 5 days.
